Words of Welcome
Moment for Mission
+ Call to Worship
At the name of Jesus every knee should bend. Glory to God. Every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Glory to God.
+ Hymn 299: HANOVER You Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim
+ Call to Confession
+ Prayer of Confession
Righteous God, we confess that we have not lived as your obedient children. We have honored you with our words, but we have denied you with our actions. We have not pursued the mind of Christ, who took the form of a servant, for we have acted with selfish ambition. We have put our interests before the interests of others and have not regarded them in humility. Forgive us our arrogance, awaken our hearts to sincere repentance, and enable us to will and to work for your good pleasure, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
+ Declaration of Forgiveness
Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
+ Response of Praise: Hymn

The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.
The Sacrament of Baptism
+ The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

O God, Beyond All Praising
Time for Reflection + Doxology (Hymn 606) and Prayer of Dedication

Melody by Gustav Holst (1874-1932)
Setting by Richard Proulx (1937-2010)
O God, beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay; For we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end: We lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word, we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord. The flow'r of earthly splendor in time must surely die, its fragile bloom surrender to you, the Lord most high; but hidden from all nature the eternal seed is sown - though small in mortal stature, to heaven's garden grown: for Christ the man from heaven from death has set us free, and we through him are given the final victory. Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our King; And whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we’ll triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless You still: To marvel at Your beauty and glory in Your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.
