+ Call to Worship

O give thanks to the Lord! The Lord hears the cries of the people. Give thanks to the Lord. The works of the Lord are great. Remember what God has done. Give thanks to the Lord.

God has done miracles, and the Lord always remembers God’s covenant. Give thanks to the Lord. Glory and praise is due to the Lord!

+ Hymn 645: MIT FREUDEN ZART Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above

+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

Gracious God, we have sought after things, but we have not sought after you. We expect generosity, but we have not shown generosity. We have not been gracious or grateful. We have failed to remember all that you have done. Forgive us and fill our hearts with gratitude. Help us to share our gifts and strengthen our resolve so that we willingly work for you, O God. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven

Praise, my soul, the King of heaven; to his feet thy tribute bring; for ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, who like me his praise should sing? Alelluia. O praise the everlasting King. Angels, help us to adore him, for ye behold him face to face. Sun and moon, bow down before him, praise with us the God of grace. Alleluia. Praise with us the God of grace. Amen.

Sermon | Rev. Liz Wagner

Time for Reflection

Affirmation of Faith | 1 Cor. 15:1–6; Mark 16:1–9; Matt. 16:16; Rev. 22:13; John 20:28

This is the good news which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved, if we hold it fast: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day, and that he appeared first to the women, then to Peter, and to the Twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the beginning and the end; he is our Lord and our God. Amen.

WAYNE ORATORIO SOCIETY - SUMMER SINGS I & II

On Tuesdays, July 9 and August 6, from 7-9PM, you are invited to attend the Wayne Oratorio Society Summer Sings. These are two wonderful opportunities to try out the choir and preview selections from our upcoming 2024-25 season: featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams' epic "A Sea Symphony" and John Knowles Paine's "Mass in D." BE A FAN OF CITY LIGHTS

WPC has been collecting fans for CityLights in Southwest Philadelphia for over 15 years. Many in this community are in need of fans including those who suffer from asthma or other illnesses, those with young children, pregnant women, and senior citizens. Our goal is to collect 100 fans, or funds to purchase as many, by July 7. If you have fans or air conditioners to donate, you can call the Church Office to arrange drop off. You can also contribute to the Fan Fund by check made payable to the WPC and putting FAN in the memo line, or give online by selecting the CityLights fund. Email Sally Hudson with questions at sally.g.hudson@gmail.com. Donating fans is one small way to put your Faith in Action.
