THE ROAD TO WISDOM:
Gracious Conversation in a Contentious Age
A discussion with Dr. Francis Collins

Presented by Wayne Presbyterian Church and BioLogos
Welcome to Wayne Presbyterian Church

Thank you for joining us for a community discussion with Dr. Francis Collins. This event supports our mission to bring people together for important conversations to strengthen our community.
About Us
We are an inclusive community that seeks to grow in faith and love our neighbors. Our mission is to share the ministry of Jesus Christ through worship, learning, serving, and caring.
Worship & Music
Worship is at the heart of what we do as Christians. Each Sunday we come together to glorify God and grow spiritually through inspiring music, scripture, sermons, sacraments, and prayer. You are invited to join us in worship, either in person or on our livestream.
Spiritual Growth
Spiritual growth is a life-long journey, so we provide ways to nurture faith at every age. Through Sunday School for children and adults, Bible studies, spiritual direction, small groups, summer camps, and retreats, we grow in knowledge, faith, and community.
Serving Others
We are a mission-focused church serving our neighbors at home and around the world. We dedicate our time and resources to feed the hungry, house the homeless, educate and serve vulnerable children and adults, protect our planet, advocate for justice, and bring the hope and compassion of Christ to those in need.
Caring & Connecting
We carry each other’s burdens and welcome others as Christ welcomed us. We celebrate life’s gifts and sorrows together as a community of faith. Our shared meals, small groups, support groups, senior outreach, family programs, and community outreach and events bring us together in faith and fellowship.
If you are seeking to grow in faith, serve others, and connect with a caring community, join us for worship on Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00 a.m., follow us on social media, or visit waynepres.org to learn more about the many ways you can get involved.

About Francis Collins
Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., is a physicianscientist and one of the best-known scientists of the current era.
Dr. Collins served as Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under three presidents, where he guided the nation’s biomedical research efforts.

Prior to that, he served as Director of the Human Genome Project, an international collaboration that first mapped the entire human genome. His research also led to the discovery of the gene for cystic fibrosis.
Collins became a Christian at age 27. In 2006, he wrote the bestselling book The Language of God, which makes the case that science actually enhances faith.
The tremendous response to the book prompted Collins to found BioLogos, an organization that explores and delights in the harmony between faith and science.
Today, Collins lives with his wife, Diane Baker, in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Tonight’s free-will offering will support BioLogos, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that advocates for harmony between science and faith. Please visit the BioLogos information table after the event to learn more.

About BioLogos
BioLogos helps people live a whole and joyful faith in today’s scientific world.
They draw people deeper into the love of God and all God has created by empowering them to explore, embody, and delight in the harmony of faith and science.
Dr. Francis Collins founded BioLogos in 2007. For nearly two decades, they’ve drawn on the voices of scientists and theologians to help people see the compatibility of faith and science. Today, they exist to help young people – and the guides they trust –experience it in how they think, feel, and act.
