Christmas Eve Pageant

If the Sanctuary is full, overflow seating is available in the Chapel, where the service will be livestreamed. While children are encouraged to worship with their families on this special night, the Chapel is also available for our littlest worshippers who may need some extra space and a quieter atmosphere. Prelude | Ryan Fleming, piano Carols of the Season Good Christian Friends, Rejoice | Rev. Katy Shevel, flute Words of Welcome | Rev. Ryan Balsan + Hymn 133: O Come, All Ye Faithful | Verses 1 & 3

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant; O come ye; O come ye to Bethlehem! Come, and behold him, born the King of angels! O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him, Christ, the Lord! Sing, choirs of angels; sing in exultation; Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above! Glory to God, all glory in the highest! O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him, Christ, the Lord! + Call to Worship | Rev. Ryan Balsan Anthem | Children’s Choir Rejoice! The Celebration Begins! | Kelli Masters + Hymn 119: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing | Verses 1 & 3 Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn king. Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!” Joyful all ye nations, rise; join the triumph of the skies; with the angelic host proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!” Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn king!”

David Huntsinger

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the sun of righteousness! Light and life to all he brings, risen with healing in his wings. Mild he lays his glory by, born that we no more may die, born to raise us from the earth, born to give us second birth. Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn king!” Scripture Reading | Luke 2:1-7 Hymn 115: Away in a Manger | Verses 1 & 2

Away in a manger, no crib for his bed, the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head. The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay, the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing; the poor baby wakes, but little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes. I love thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky, and stay by my side until morning is nigh. Scripture Reading | Luke 2:8-14 Hymn 113: Angels We Have Heard on High | Verses 1 & 3

Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing o’er the plains, and the mountains in reply echoing their joyous strains. Gloria in excelsis Deo! Gloria in excelsis Deo! Come to Bethlehem and see him whose birth the angels sing; come, adore on bended knee Christ, the Lord, the newborn King. Gloria in excelsis Deo! Gloria in excelsis Deo! Scripture Reading | Luke 2:15-20 Hymn 118: While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks | Verses 1 & 6

While shepherds watched their flocks by night, all seated on the ground, the angel of the Lord came down, and glory shone around, and glory shone around. All glory be to God on high, and to the earth be peace; good will to all from highest heaven begin and never cease, begin and never cease! Scripture Reading | Matthew 2:1-2, 9-10

Hymn 151: We Three Kings | Verse 1

We three kings of Orient are; bearing gifts we traverse afar, field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star.

REFRAIN: O star of wonder, star of night, star with royal beauty bright, westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy perfect light!

Scripture Reading | Matthew 2:11 Hymn 133: O Come, All Ye Faithful | Verse 4

Yea, Lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning; Jesus, to thee be all glory given; Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing! O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him, Christ, the Lord! Song | What a Glorious Night

Words & Music by: Casey Brown

VERSE 1 | The shepherds came to see the baby, stood by his mother’s side. Here laid the Savior inside the manger, oh what a glorious night. REFRAIN | I hear the angels singing halleluiah. Let the earth receive her king. I know that love has come. Sing it out. Jesus Christ is born, Jesus Christ is born. VERSE 2 | The shepherds wondered, they couldn’t hide it. Told everyone in sight. All were amazed when...they heard how God came down on the glorious night. Hymn 136: Go, Tell It On the Mountain | Verses 1 & 2

REFRAIN: Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere; go, tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born!

VERSE 1 While shepherds kept their watching o’er silent flocks by night, behold, throughout the heavens there shone a holy light. (REFRAIN)

VERSE 2 The shepherds feared and trembled when lo! above the earth rang out the angel chorus that hailed our Savior’s birth. (REFRAIN) Message | Rev. Katy Shevel Candle Lighting

Hymn 122: Silent Night, Holy Night | Verses 1, 2 & 4

Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright round yon virgin mother and child. Holy Infant, so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar, heav’nly hosts sing, Alleluia! Christ, the Savior, is born! Christ, the Savior, is born! Silent night! Holy night! Wondrous star, lend thy light; with the angels let us sing, "Alleluia" to our King: “Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born.” Christmas Blessing | Rev. Ryan Balsan + Hymn 134: Joy to the World | Verses 1 & 2

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her king; let every heart prepare him room, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven, and heaven and nature sing. Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns! Let all their songs employ, while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding joy. + Benediction | Rev. Ryan Balsan Postlude | Ryan Fleming, piano God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman
