Lift Every Voice and Sing Chime Call to Worship

+ Call to Worship

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Lord who was and is and is to come. Let us worship the Lord together.

James Johnson/Arr. Joseph Kauffman

+ Hymn 234: ST. KEVIN Come , You Faithful , Raise the Strain

+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, in raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered the power of sin and death. We confess that we remain captive to doubt and fear, bound by ways that lead to death. We overlook the poor and the hungry, and pass by those who mourn; we are deaf to the cries for the oppressed, and indifferent to calls for peace; we despise the weak, and abuse the earth you made.

Forgive us, God of mercy. Help us to trust your power to change our lives and make us new, that we may know the joy of life abundant given in Jesus Christ, the risen Lord.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

Hear the good news of God’s promise: I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

+ Response of Praise: Alleluia!

CELTIC ALLELUIA

+ Passing of the Peace

The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

Time for Reflection

Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
