Dear Wayne Presbyterian Friends,
August 26, 2025
It is hard to believe that one year ago, Jen and I were packing boxes and preparing for our move to Wayne. We are thankful for the welcome we have received with open arms into this wonderful church family. It is a joy to be part of a community that seeks to follow Jesus, and where we live out our faith in worship, prayer, study, friendship, care for each other, and service to our community and the world
I have also come to know this congregation and many of you, which has also been a source of deep joy I love learning about your lives and experiences, and also your hopes and dreams for Wayne Presbyterian One of the most exciting things I have discovered is how much we like to be together. We have increased our coffee order twice to serve the growing crowds at Coffee Hour!
Speaking of being together, I look forward to the kickoff of our new program year. On Sunday, August 31, we will have our final single summer service at 10:00 a.m., followed by our annual Church Picnic. On Sunday, September 7, we will resume our two-service Sunday schedule at 9:30 and 11:00 am with education for children, youth, and adults at 9:30 If you have been away for much of the summer, or have been thinking of coming back to church after a break, September is a great time to reconnect and see all that God is doing here
We have some exciting programs coming up this fall We’ll collect food through our new “Beat the Eagles to Tackle Hunger” program, where every rushing yard drives more food. We will raise funds to support Cornerstone Christian Academy Orchestra through concerts featuring Philadelphia Orchestra Concertmaster David Kim and our own Music Director John Grecia. We’ll host families facing housing insecurity. We will have Bible studies, book discussions, and events for all ages to enrich our faith and our community. We’ll host a Joseph’s People Career Networking event. Our pastors and deacons will serve the needs of our community with care and compassion
There is a lot happening at WPC this fall beyond these programs, and there are so many ways to become involved On the back of this letter, you will find a partial list of upcoming events I hope you will join us for many of them Please be sure you receive our News & Views weekly e-newsletter and visit our website waynepres.org to stay informed.

As we move from the slower pace of the summer into the rhythm of the fall, I invite you to be part of all that God is doing among us in the season ahead. Perhaps pick one new thing to try. WPC is d serve together as we grow in faith and care for one another. l
