Cleveland County deputies from the Community Interdiction Team from the Sheriff's Department confiscated 14 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and 870 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $87,000 August 21, according to Sheriff Alan Norman. Norman said Ryan Ashley Robinson, 39, and Brandi Lee Hackett, 25, were traveling on I-85 when they were pulled over near exit 5, off Dixon School Road, for broken brake lights and not signaling before changing lanes. Deputies allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the 2014 Chevrolet Impala Hackett was driving. Norman said
officers waited for a K-9 to come to the scene and search the vehicle. He said deputies found 14 grams of marijuana and 870 grams of methamphetamine in the trunk of the car. Hackett, 1445 Forest Ridge Drive, Stanley, NC, and Robinson, 2869 Mount Ruhama Church Road, Maiden, NC, were charged with two counts trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hackett received a $100,000 bond and is in Cleveland County Women's Jail. Robinson received no bond and is being held at Cleveland County Jail.
