The Patrick Senior Center can help you get around to those doctor appointments, to the grocery store, and to come to the Patrick Center for activities and fellowship! The Patrick Senior Center offers transportation services through TACC for in-county medical appointments, the Senior Center nutrition site and other activities, and grocery store trips. They can also transport clients to Gastonia, Charlotte, and Lincolnton for medical appointments as funding permits. The service is free of charge, but contributions are gladly accepted, and help to expand services. Patrick Center staff

member Bonnie Hale says, “Since becoming the Transportation Coordinator over four years ago, I have witnessed many people who weren’t able to get their driver’s license renewed or for some reason have had to rely on our transportation. It is a blessing to have this service so our participants can come to the center and enjoy activities with their friends. On many occasions, participants have mentioned that coming to the center is something they look forward to every day and is a reason to get out of the house!” The Patrick Center is proud to partner with Transportation Services of Cleveland County to offer these services. TACC Executive Director Bob Davis says, “TACC has been transporting the Senior Center passengers for many years.

Our drivers have built great relationships with their passengers and I hear wonderful stories from the drivers and the passengers. It is always great to visit the Senior Center to talk to the passengers.” Two ladies have been regular passengers for several years and had these words to say about the transportation program: Nellie Roseboro, passenger for 10 years, said, “It means the world to me because it’s how I get to the doctor and back and forth to the center, and how I go shopping. The drivers help us carry our groceries in and I’m grateful for the service.” “Drivers are so courteous and a lot of help to us. It furnishes me a ride to the center, takes me shopping, to medical appointments, and to the drug store to pick See TRANSPORTATION, Page 7A
