ON STAGE Dr. Robert M. Meyer is the Chancellor Emeritus of UW-Stout and will deliver a keynote speach on the future of manufacturing. Meyer has a career history which also includes time as a machinist, tech ed instructor at a public school, college professor and president of a technical college. Holly Chilsen, WSAW Newschannel 7 anchor, is the master of ceremonies.

Robert S. Meyer became the seventh chancellor at UW-Stout on Au Charles W. Sorensen, who served 26 years.

Chancellor Emeritus Meyer didn’t need long to find his way around c Stout in various capacities – professor, college dean and special as for 25 years. He left in 2006 to become president of the Wisconsin I College in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, before being named by the UW S May 2014 as UW-Stout chancellor. He retired in August of 2019.

Chancellor Emeritus Meyer holds a Ph.D. in industrial engineering fr Minnesota. He earned an M.S. in management technology and a B. both at UW-Stout.

Chancellor Emeritus Meyer is married to the former Deb Klein, who UW-Stout, both in home economics education. His daughter, Erica, Stout with a degree in packaging. His second daughter, Melissa, is a and Texas A&M with degrees in geological engineering.

Chancellor Emeritus Meyer is a native of Port Washington, Wiscons Deb relocated to the family cabin in far northern Minnesota on the fr Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Chancellor Meyer also is a passion Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and loves to hunt and fish.

This system includes a process which completely encases the metal with a fiberglass pultrusion, which does not allow any heat or cold to transfer from the outside to the inside of the frame. This gives architects the freedom to design without negatively impacting thermal performance. One of the company’s proudest recent achievements includes providing the basis of design for the McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Formed as a small general-purpose machine shop, they have grown into a recognized leader in the dam gate hoist market and are uniquely qualified to design, engineer, fabricate, assemble and test in virtually every size, style and configuration. They supply all of the machinery that enables drawbridges and swing and lift bridges to move. The company supplies machinery and operating equipment to the U.S. Army CORE of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation. Additionally, they provide custom machining services for large, complex castings, forgings and weldings. Lemke Industrial Machine contributes to the region by working with local suppliers. To aid in efficiency, the business has created a program that allows them to meet the strict requirements of the Department of Transportation in various states, the U.S. Army CORE of Engineers and the nation’s largest and most prestigious utilities. They sell factory-direct to their customers, which helps keep their product both customizable and affordable. The company also sells trailer parts to individuals and other small builders. The business contributes to the region’s economy by making a conscious decision to support other local small businesses and has managed to source a great deal of their parts locally. The company has grown from a two stall home garage to an innovative 5,000 square foot manufacturing shop with state-of-the-art equipment. TCTeardrops is continually innovating based on feedback and requests from customers. The business offers its employees “TCT Time Off”, which is additional paid time off that does not count against their vacation. The company enjoys sponsoring local events, raising funds for several outdoor clubs in the area, donating time, materials and parts. They have also worked with Wausau West and Northcentral Technical College apprenticeship programs.

THE AWARD PROCESS In recent months, a call for nominations was sent to Chamber members and announced to the general public. Applications were then sent to nominees. Nominees who chose to complete the application were reviewed and scored by selection judges with the scorecards tallied to determine the recipients. The selection judges are comprised of representatives from a variety of industry segments.
