Park Place is endeavoring to begin a new support group! The lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Support Speakers from Lake and Cook County will lead a discussion on the challenges that individual LGBT face and offer legal advice. Guest speakers include, Center on Halsted and Carla Wyckoff - Lake County Clerk. Going forward the LGBT Support Group will continue to meet monthly. The group will celebrate ethnic, racial, and gender diversity and serve members who are 55 and better. Call 847-244-9242 for meeting day and times.
GRANDPARENTS & OTHER RELATIVE CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP For Grandparents, Guardians or Any Relative Caregivers Monday, June 8th ● 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm (Debi Leer & Tuesday, June 23rd ● 11:00 am 12:00 pm (Darlene Jones) Guest Speaker - Nicasa Experienced Facilitator offers assistance, support, coaching and referrals. Monthly speakers on a wide range of topics relevant to caregiver’s life. One-stop shopping for services and assistance with forms. Child care provided by One Hope United. Age-appropriate activities for children ages 5 - 18. Complimentary lunch or dinner at each meeting. Transportation is available for Waukegan Township Residents 55 and over by calling: (847) 599-2936 at least 3 days in advance. We have renamed the Walk for Seniors to the 5K For Labor Day. This is an athletic multigenerational event. The step off celebration will start at 8:30am and the race will begin at 9am. Our 38 students have safely returned home from a vigorous journey of higher education. From March 20-28th, our students were able to visit a total of 10 HBCU’s.
