Dear Friends, On January 15, 2018 10am - noon (9am hors d’oeuvres) we will reflect on a great leader at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dreamers’ Breakfast. In addition to celebrating local Dreamers, there will be a special tribute to reflect on the life of President Nelson Mandela. This intergenerational event will feature local youth and a diverse representation of several individuals who serve humanity. Guests will enjoy live entertainment and dynamic speakers. Tickets are $30.00 per person. Tables can be purchased for $350. *Tables of ten have priority seating along with other perks at the event. Are you 55 and better and need help clearing snow from your driveway and walkway? Call our hotline at: 847599-2932 to register and receive your complimentary snow removal services. As a reminder, Waukegan Township has two options for housing persons that are homeless; the Staben House for women and children, contact 847-2449944 and the Eddie Washington Center for men, contact 847-244-0805. Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Holiday Celebration. Over 280 attended to celebrate this festive occasion. Thanks to our volunteers and those who worked as a team to bring this special event together including, the Eddie Washington Center residents, St. Joseph Catholic Academy students, United for Volunteering, the National Asso ciatio n o f University Women, the Harbor Lites (IL) Chapter of the Links, Inc., and United for Volunteering. Participants enjoyed entertainment from Singspiration, the Gideon Missionary Baptist Church, Singing Santa - Curtis Piere, and the Timeless Music Review. On Wednesday, March 28 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Park Place will provide a free workshop to the community to increase customer

Professionals will provide face-toface assistance in completing the Senior Citizen’s Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption form as well as other exemption programs. The Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption applies to an owner occupied principal residence, for people 65 years old and older who meet the income limitations. Forms are automatically mailed to taxpayers who already have qualified for the Senior Homestead Exemption. The services that Waukegan Township provides would mean nothing without your ongoing support. It means so much to us, as we move into a new year striving for bigger and better events and programs for everyone to learn, grow, and enjoy.
