Dear Friends, Friends, family, and supporters came out on the morning of Saturday, September 2, 2017, for the 5K For Labor Day. The race was held at the beautiful Independence Grove in Libertyville, IL. Thanks to everyone who came out or helped spread the word. We had an unbelievable time! Due to your generosity, we were able to raise funds to assist Patricia Jones, M. Ed continueing the mission of providing high quality services to seniors. All participants Waukegan Township received a complimentary medal for finishing the course. Congratulations to the main Supervisor award winners: Fastest male, female runner/walker and oldest/youngest runner/walker. We would like to thank our 5K for Labor Day volunteers and Senior Citizen’s Service Committee members. We can’t wait to see everyone at next year’s 5K For Labor Day on Saturday, September 1, 2018! Artist Barbara Jones once said, “Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap”. In that spirit, please enjoy complimentary cookies at Park Place every Tuesday in the month of September. We are celebrating National Senior Center Month and invite you to visit Park Place to learn more about our programs and services. Park Place provides a variety of services for adults 55 years of age and better and our programs attract seniors with diverse backgrounds and interests. If you are recently retired or simply want a delightful place to remain active, healthy, and enjoy good fellowship , please stop by during National Senior Center month to check out what we have to offer. Park Place will not be open on Saturdays. Saturdays will remain open only for rentals. The facility will be closed Monday, September 4, 2017 in observance of Labor Day. We join in the recognition of the contributions that laborers make to the United States. We will close on September, 25-30 for building cleaning and Monday, October 9, 2017 for Columbus Day.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with “Taste of Latin America” $5 ticket and pay at the door Friday, October 20, 2017 - 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Bring your appetite - you won't leave hungry! Enjoy tasty cuisine from several Latin American countries. Attendees will also enjoy live music and entertainment. This is an event you do NOT want to miss!!!! Fantastic giveaways and fun contests. Food is available for purchase from a number of vendors.

Cancer Awareness Month Event Wednesday, October 25 2017 - 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Complimentary Event at: Park Place - 414 S. Lewis Avenue. The event will include: Keynote Speaker, testimonials, exhibitors on hand providing information on Breast Cancer, light refreshments, balloon release, giveaway’s, raffle prizes.
