Losing someone or something you love or care deeply about is very painful. You may experience all kinds of difficult emotions and it may feel like the pain and sadness you're experiencing will never let up. The Coping with grief support group meets monthly for anyone who is experiencing a loss. For more details on a list of all the Park Place support and enhancement group please see page 6. In January 2018 we will reflect on a great leader at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dreamers' Breakfast. The celebration will take place on Monday, January 15, 2018 - 10am. In addition to celebrating local dreamers, there will be a special tribute to reflect on the life of President Nelson Mandela. In addition, local youth will offer a youth prospective and guests will enjoy live entertainment and guest speakers. Tickets are $30.00 per person. Tables can purchased for tier 1 -$350 and tier 2 $450. Tables of ten have priority seating along with other perks at the event. Purchase tickets at Supervisor’s Office, 149 S. Congratulations to the Park Place for a job well-done. This chart illustrates the number of seniors who received services from the Park Place Center. Our buses transported seniors safely to and from medical appointments, grocery shopping, area stores, from senior buildings, to nursing homes to visit loved ones, and shuttles to and from Park Place for events, regular programs and important socialization. Supervisor Jones has conducted meetings since the beginning of last year to develop a plan to address special transportation needs. The collaboration with Pace and Shields Township resulted in the creation of a Community Disability transportation program. The program will provide a vital lifeline for people who are under 55 with disabilities to access employment, education, healthcare, and community life. For more details see “Dial A Ride” on page 5. As we close out the lawn care season and prepare for snow removal, we solicit your referrals for workers in the Home Sweet Home Snow Removal initiative. This position is on an on-call basis with flexibility desired to include weekends & holidays if needed.
