All the sloping banks had to be reprofiled to produce a slope that could be more easily strimmed. The main corner of the viewing area had some turfs laid as it was felt this sloping area would not take well to grass seed. Finally, we finished laying roadstone on the second car park area and rolled that while other members of the working party spread grass seed on all the soil we had smoothed out.

Celebrity Paddleboarders Navigate the Canal

Eleven intrepid celebrities including adventurer Charley Boorman, rugby star James Haskell and former racing driver Damon Hill took on a 30-mile endurance paddleboarding challenge along the canal to raise money for charity. Completed over two days, the event was held in support of Movember, a leading men’s health charity with a particular focus on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer.

Boat Trip News

Public trips are now open for booking on in Woking and in Odiham. Public trips will be running on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as on Fridays until the end of October. public trips are on Wednesdays and Sundays. Private charter trips on both boats can be booked. Full details are on the booking site. All trips are crewed by trained volunteers who are passionate about the canal and all proceeds go towards maintaining and enhancing the canal for all to enjoy. NB. All our boat trips may be subject to change. Please check the latest news for more information.
