We honor and celebrate the array of identities in our local community and broader communities, including those that are not part of the predominant culture. We hold space on our stage, our screens, and our gallery walls, in our studios, and at our community events and programs to present diverse stories, identities, and lived experiences in real and authentic ways.
This production is presented with one 15-minute intermission.
ABOUT THE CAST + CREW
Forest Gregory (Beau) First time actor but lifelong Waterville local, Forest Gregory makes his theater debut as Beau in this production of The Cottage. While you won’t recognize him from previous productions, you may know him from his work in the area’s restaurant industry. Currently, he can be found most nights at Amici’s Cucina, just up the road from the Opera House.
Lindsay Hammes (Deirdre) is thrilled to be back on the WOH stage after re-catching the acting bug whilst playing Sally in last season’s production of Drinking Habits. The last time she got to be a blonde was as one of the “Angels” in Anything Goes at Lakewood in 2000 (ooo, that was a long time ago). Before that, she played everything from Oliver in Oliver! to Ado Annie in Oklahoma! and many more besides, including shows that didn’t have an “!” in their title. After galivanting around the world for about a decade, Lindsay is back home, living and working in her hometown of Augusta, seemingly for good (?!).
Sarah Harlow (Sylvia) has been doing community theatre in the Central Maine area since 2012, but truly fell in love with a good farce when she was seventeen. As you will see in this show, family is everything, so when she’s not at the theatre, she can be found convincing her husband a project at their cottage will “only take one afternoon,” or at a thrift store with Noel, her twin sister. Sarah wishes to thank her honey and her friends who keep most of her marbles from getting lost on the way here from the train station. Sarah also thanks YOU for coming to this theatre, her most favorite place in all the world.
John Dalton Logan (Director) couldn’t be more excited to make his Directorial debut at the Waterville Opera House with The Cottage! John has acted in numerous productions in Maine and received his M.F.A. in Acting from Florida Atlantic University in 2022 after obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine. Recently, he was Assistant Director and Fight Choreographer for Miss Holmes Returns and was seen on stage as Robert in The Play That Goes Wrong here at WOH. He has been on screen in the previous two iterations of Damnationland and has also acted with Theater at Monmouth, Fenix Theater Company, the Camden Shakespeare Festival, and the Portland Players. Many thanks to Debra and Michelle for giving him this opportunity. Much love, as always, to Gabe.
Jonas Maines (Clarke) returns to the WOH stage after previous performances in Head Over Heels (ensemble) and Murder on the Orient Express (Col. Arbuthnot).
Jonas holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Maine at Farmington and has worked professionally in Austin and Chicago. Jonas thanks his sublime partner, Sarah, and the entire cast and crew for their exceptional work.
Debra Susi (Assistant Director/Costume Designer) is a 39-year Theatre Educator, costume designer, and Intimacy Choreographer whose artistic and educational mission has been Building Community Through the Arts - one story at a time by connecting lived experiences on the stage and in the classroom to a world beyond imaginary walls and borders. Directing credits include U.S. premiere of Fame Forever—Reunion and Rebirth, sequel to the musical Fame. Professional costume design credits at The Public include Morning After Grace, Women in Jeopardy, and Screwball Comedy. Debra has also worked as a Guest Instructor at Colby College.
