Candace Chase (Costume Designer) has been costuming for the WOH for about eleven years. Her designs include Game’s Afoot, Clue, and Miss Holmes. She has done extensive patterning and construction for many musicals including Elf, Hello Dolly, Young Frankenstein, and Mary Poppins. She thanks WOH for being a home away from home.

Debra Lord Cooke (Mother Superior) Dee is thrilled to be back at WOH playing Mother Superior in Drinking Habits! Past WOH shows include THUMBS, Sugar Bean Sisters, and August: Osage County. Dee escaped back home to Maine during the pandemic after living in NYC where she worked as a SAG-AFTRA actor. Credits include The Girl Who Got Away, Cafe Society, Cake: A Love Story, as well as theater - A Cavalier for Milady, and shows with AND Theatre Company and The Actors Project. Dee is now happily living in Belgrade with her husband, Col. Sean Scully, and working as a Realtor at Lakehome Group Real Estate.

Timothy Croce (Paul) has appeared in many productions here at the Waterville Opera House over the past decade. Some past roles that have a special place for Tim were Mr. Green in Clue, The Tin Man in Wizard of Oz, Justin in A Fox on the Fairway, and Igor in Young Frankenstein. Chances are high that the role of Paul in Drinking Habits will become a new favorite for him. Born and raised in Kennebec Valley, Tim currently lives in Waterville. For the past fifteen years he has worked for MaineDOT as a cartographer.

Lindsay Hammes (Sally) returns to the Waterville Opera House stage after an, ahem, twenty-ish year hiatus. Back in the day, she did everything from Fiddler on the Roof to Bye, Bye, Birdie and many more shows on this stage and other community theatre stages across Maine. She’s played roles including Oliver in Oliver! (whew, that was a long time ago!) to Ado Annie in Oklahoma! and many more besides, including in shows that didn’t have an “!” in their title. This is her first non-musical and firstever farce. Lindsay is thrilled to be back on stage and thanks her colleague, Kim, for putting the audition notice under her nose, her friend, Bee, for encouraging her to audition, and her sister, Alexa, for helping her run lines, even on vacation.

Paul Herard (Father Chenille) is honored to play Father Chenille in Drinking Habits! He has been a part of WOH in over fifteen productions, such as: Tuck Everlasting the Musical (Constable Joe) and Rock of Ages (Dennis Dupree). In real life, Paul is an associate broker with the Pine Tree Group at EXP realty. He would like to thank his family and friends for supporting him in his passion for acting and theater production and urges everyone to donate to the Waterville Opera House!

Sharon Hood (Sister Mary Catherine) resides in Pittsfield with husband, Chad, children, Anderson and Jayden, dogs, Dallas and Gibson, and cats Sterling, Ninja, and Charley. In 2024, she is looking forward to many things: her ten-year wedding anniversary, her son graduating from high school and starting college, turning the BIG 5-0, fishing, painting, traveling, attending church, hiking, sewing, exploring, publishing her latest children’s book, and singing on the stage. Drinking Habits is her first straight show, but she found a way to sneak a little song in! Her biggest thrill is making people laugh so, when it hits you, laugh loud and often!

Erik Hyatt (Stage Manager) is thankful to be returning to the Waterville Opera House in a brand-new way. You have seen him before in Things my Mother Taught Me, A Fox on the Fairway, The Divine Sister, Dinner Party, Clue, Miss Holmes, The Mousetrap, The Play That Goes Wrong, A Flea in Her Ear, Murder on the Orient Express, and has helped with several others. Now, you should not see him or even be aware he is there. He is shadow, moving behind the scenes, lighting the lights, and helping to facilitate the illusion. Unless he screws up, then you’ll hear him swearing. Enjoy the show! Thanks Vi <3

Beth Lambert (Director) is honored to have directed this production of Drinking Habits. She has directed several productions for the Waterville Opera House, most recently, Murder on the Orient Express. Beth is a trained actor/director, vocalist, and educator, and holds degrees from Lawrence University Conservatory and Harvard University. Beth has acted, directed, and taught all over the world including the Arcola Theatre in London and was a founding member of a “Theatre of the Oppressed” inspired school in Pune, India. Currently, she is the Chief Teaching and Learning Officer at the Maine Department of Education. Beth lives in Fairfield with her two children, Lillian (19) and Paige (12), and her husband, Greg, and is grateful for their love and support.

Eli Mowry (George) This is Eli’s first production at the Opera House, and he couldn’t be more excited! Eli recently graduated from UMF with his bachelors in theater, notably being Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and Tom in These Shining Lives. He’d like to thank his partner, Catie, and mom, Laurie, for all their love and support. Please enjoy the show!

Allison Turlo (Scenic Designer/Scenic Charge) is a recent graduate from Syracuse University, where she earned her BFA in Theater Design and Technology with a focus in set design. Previously, she was the set designer for WOH’s Murder on the Orient Express, and the scenic charge for Elf the Musical and The Play That Goes Wrong.

Maggie Wachtl (Sister Augusta) is excited to be in her second show with the Waterville Opera House. Her first performance with WOH was as Dr. Dorothy Watson in Miss Holmes. Previously, she performed in a handful of shows at the Gaslight in Hallowell. Maggie has lived around the country and overseas a couple of times, currently teaching high school science and chasing adventures big and small. She hopes you enjoy the show.

Hannah Weston (Sister Philamena) is returning to the Waterville Opera House after spending eight years in South Carolina. She is excited to be back on the Opera House stage. You may have seen Hannah last season as Tina in The Play That Goes Wrong, Mayor/Ensemble in Rock of Ages, and as Greta in Murder on the Orient Express. She’d like to thank Beth Lambert for giving her the opportunity to play yet another fun character. Thank you, Debra Susi and Michelle Sweet for the warm welcome back. She thanks the cast for making this show memorable. Lastly, Hannah would like to thank her family, especially her parents, for literally supporting her love of theater.
