In a role written expressly for her, Debra plays Betty Parrish, an open young Los Angeles bank teller who becomes deeply involved with her charismatic tennis teacher, Mike, who turns out to have much more he’s investing his time in than just tennis. Mike disappears for long stretches, and then reappears in her waiting life. What’s he up to? It’s a hint to say that Mike’s absences are not just due to any possible interests in other women.
