You can easily carry them to shift them from one place to another, whereas the attached water cooler is attached with the water line, is difficult to shift.

Fitting You will need a plumber to fit plumbed-in water cooler with the water line but in case of freestanding water cooler you need an electricity source, that’s all.

Source of water For this point, plumbed-in water coolers are a step ahead of the portable water cooler because attached water coolers depend on the water line which means you don’t have to worry about refilling. Whereas portable water coolers work on the water bottles that are to be fitted in the dispenser and refilling needs to be done over a period of time.

Filtration You cannot rely on attached water cooler for filtration because attached water dispenser uses the process of reverse osmosis for the filtration, and still some impurities are always left behind.

Whereas free-standing water coolers have a built-in filter, i.e., every time you drink water from portable water coolers you can be assured that you are drinking pure water.

Plumbed-in water coolers are used in public areas like parks, temple, church, and other religious places.
