Since coming to Watermark in 2013, I have had the opportunityto see some fantastic shows from some of the most amazingly talented people, as well as had thechance to watch some of my childhood heroes perform live. For me, there is no greater feeling than being in a room, full of mostly strangers, bothliveandyouthexperiencesentertainmentmyreminiscingyear’sinformationforsomethingexperiencingentertainingthefirsttime.Assemblingtheforthisguidegotmeabouttwooffavoritefrommy—myfirstconcertthefirsttimeIsawamusicalinatheater, ofwhichhappened

right here Watermark’sin readership area.My first musical was the National BroadwayTour of “Phantom of the Opera” in the 1990s atOrlando’s Bob Carr Theater. I was in my early teens and it was a family affair with my mom, aunt, grandma and older brother, and it was a magical experience. From the start of the organ to the chandelier crashing down over the audience, I remember every moment as if it all happened lastweekend. Great shows have a way of doing that — searing not just thevisuals but also the music into your mind — so that even decades later all you need to do is close your eyes and you are transported right back to that time, feeling that excitement all over again. I felt a different kind of excitement at my first concert. It was Garth Brooks at the Amalie Arena — at the time called the Ice Palace — in Tampa later in the‘90s. The excitement I felt was like pure adrenaline. A high-energy show will do that to you. It opened with Garth Brooks rising up in the middle of the stage surrounded by a smoke and light show, hours, that man ran, jumped, sang and played the guitar whilethousands of fans screamed, cheered and sang along. I couldn’t help but be enveloped in that energy and to this day it is still a feeling that few things in this world can replicate. Both these memories will stay with me forever and within these pages I hope you find a show, exhibit or concert that sparks for you passion, excitement and joy that lasts for years to come. All listings are accurate as of press, but please beaware that venues and showtimes are subject to changes, postponements and cancellations. Also, do keep in mind thatvenues continue to add shows to their schedules well into the fall and winter seasons, so be sure to continuously check in with your favorite placesto find out what else might be coming to their stages. We have includedcontact information and website addresses within the listings and encourage you to reviewevent information before purchasing tickets and heading to the venue. We hope you enjoy.

The North Carolina native is probably better known for roles as herself. She was a writer and panelist for Chelsea Handler’s hit late-night talk show on E!, “Chelsea Lately,” and is a staple on reality competition shows, guest judging on the likes of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Nailed It!” and “Is It Cake?” Feimster has also ventured into the world of podcasting with her own successful podcast, “Sincerely Fortune.”

Bob the Drag Queen sashayed into the eighth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2016, a reality competition she left purse first and wearing its crown. The nonbinary comedian and activist hasn’t slowed down. Her her first comedy special, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, was released the following year. In 2018 she launched the celebrated podcast “Sibling Rivalry” with drag sister Monet X Change, all while continuing to cultivate her comedy and musical career. Bob is also notably found on HBO, where she helped launch the network’s first unscripted series “We’re Here." The Emmy-nominated show is designed to “spread love and connection across small-town America" through drag.

“Bob the Drag Queen has a lot of irons in the fire,” the venue announced her stop. “Bob is sharing her comedic prowess on stage making the world laugh with her impeccable timing, true-life tales and hilarious observations.”
