Multi storey block goes up smoothly • from page 14 Kelvin says that the product was chosen due to pressure on the precast concrete market in New Zealand and that using Dincel allowed this component of works to be undertaken earlier in the program schedule. The first two buildings are scheduled for completion mid July 2018. They are not the first buildings, which Aspec Construction has built on the site. The company has completed a total of nine buildings over the last three years. Kelvin says that Aspec Construction focuses on working with the client and consultants as part of a team. Involvement in the preliminary stages allows for Aspec Construction to identify any potential issues and work through these prior to commencing construction. Complemented by high levels of communication at all stages, Aspec Construction has established teams to ensure that these company requirements are managed and maintained to the required high level of expectancy, which allows projects such as Kensington Park to be completed to a high standard on time and on budget, he says. Aspec Construction employs over 150 staff and services include construction, interior fit outs and maintenance work largely for the commercial sector. Apart from the traditional competitive tender process and design/build, Aspec Construction also offer a range of project procurement and delivery options tailored to suit the client. The company has recently opened a branch in Tauranga to cater to the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Central region.

Aspec Construction focuses on working with the client and consultants as part of a team. No matter what the project, health and safety management is a priority and Aspec Construction has a robust health and safety management

programme in place, says Kelvin. Aspec Construction has a number of projects underway around the Auckland Region including

retirement, healthcare, schools, apartments, housing, factories and warehousing, structural upgrades, reclads and historical works.
