Water Alliance is a cluster organisation with a global network committed to accelerating the adoption of innovative water technologies. WATERCAMPUS LEEUWARDEN HEART OF THE EUROPEAN WATER TECHNOLOGY HUB WaterCampus Leeuwarden encourages cooperation between businesses, educational institutes and governments. This creates added value in innovation, education and entrepreneurship at a global level. WaterCampus offers a unique infrastructure for water technology research and is a meeting point for scientists and companies from all over Europe. A complete chain of innovation for water technology, from the initial idea, research & development, specialised laboratories, a water application centre, various demosites, the BioBizz Hub, launching customers to

international applications with commercial companies. It is driven by the idea that technological development and innovation are needed to develop new markets and thus create new business opportunities for the water technology industry. In this way the Netherlands will become the European Water Technology Hub, with its focal point at the WaterCampus Leeuwarden. ACQUAINT Acquaint aims to prevent future failure of pipelines. Pipelines which have a vital function in achieving and maintaining the welfare of the society. We develop innovative inspection methods and techniques for pipelines. For these inspection methods Acquaint utilizes highquality ultrasonic sensors that send and collect sound waves and, in this way, can determine the full condition of a pipeline. Failure mechanisms such as corrosion, H2S deterioration, wall thickness, leaching in AC, leaks, ovality and many other are measured. The tools are applicable in or on any material from asbestos cement to cast iron and PVC. With the results of the inspection ultimately presented in an inter-active dashboard, it makes that pipeline owners can verify maintenance strategies and that they are able to reduce capital costs and achieve operational excellence.
