FEBRUARY NEWS As the CEO of the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce, I am excited to share some key updates and events as we launch further into 2024. We are thrilled to welcome back the train stop to the depot, a significant development for our community's connectivity and business growth. Our first luncheon of the year is behind us, an exciting program from AK DEED to kick off our year. In February, we're focusing on our 'Love Local' promotion, encouraging everyone to support and celebrate our unique local businesses. Looking ahead to March, please mark your calendars for our Annual Membership Meeting, a vital event for discussing our collective achievements and future plans. This year promises to be full of potential and we are eager to unveil more initiatives aimed at enhancing Wasilla's business environment. Thank you for your continued support and participation in the Chamber. Together, we're making Wasilla a vibrant place for business and community life. Jessica Viera CEO, Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

OK, Jeopardy enthusiasts! Here’s one for you… THE ANSWER … “a body of persons delegated to consider, investigate, take action on, or report on some matter.” QUESTION: What is a committee! If you got it, nicely done! Now the ask! Your Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce needs self-starter, energetic, leaders who can bring ideas and vision to what is an essential part of our Chamber governance … OUR COMMITTEES! Currently we have need for committee members in the following areas: Policy Committee: focuses on developing and advising on organizational policies to guide the Chamber’s operations & initiatives. Budget Committee: oversees the Chamber’s financial planning, budgeting, and fiscal management Ambassador Committee: serves as the public face of the Chamber, fostering member engagement & community relations. Government Affairs Committee: engages with local, state, and federal government entities to advocate for policies that benefit the business community.

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR Each of these Committees provides leadership and direction for the Board. Committee members also get an inside look into Board structure and policy which may in turn provide an opportunity for future service as a Board member. Consider how YOU might take your next step in serving. We aren’t Uncle Sam but, “The Chamber needs YOU!” For more information, contact the Chamber office for details!
