I am thrilled to share some exciting updates and highlights from our vibrant community here in the Mat-Su Valley. As we continue to grow and thrive, your involvement and support are integral to our success.
First, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our first annual Mat-Su Regional Spring Economic Summit. The event was a resounding success, filled with insightful discussions and valuable networking opportunities that showcased the strength and potential of our regional economy.
Additionally, our Board recently held a full day strategic planning session. The dedication and vision shared during this session have set a robust path for our future, and we are excited to share the results with you later this year.
We've also celebrated several ribbon cuttings and anniversary celebrations this season, marking both new beginnings and significant milestones within our business community. Each event not only celebrates our members' achievements but also strengthens our connections and collective commitment to economic vitality.
Looking ahead, we are mere weeks away from our 28th Annual Military Appreciation Lunch. We invite you to stay involved, whether through attending events, volunteering, or simply sharing your ideas and feedback with us.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to making Wasilla a wonderful place to live, work, and do business. Together, we are making a difference!

In April, the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce proudly co-hosted the first annual Mat-Su Regional Spring Economic Summit with the City of Wasilla and the Matanuska Susitna Borough. This landmark event brought together business leaders, local officials, and industry experts to discuss the economic landscape and future opportunities in the Mat-Su Valley.
The summit kicked off with a keynote address from Todd Smolden, who highlighted the recent achievements in the regional economy and outlined the potential for significant economic growth in the coming years. The address set a positive tone for the day, emphasizing collaboration and innovation.
Following the keynote, two different panel discussions - “Parade of Industry” and “Planes, Trains and More. Connecting Mat-Su to the World” - brought together diverse voices from our community who shared insights into resilience and adaptability in business practices. The audience engagement during the Barriers to Business pop-up discussion was high, with numerous questions sparking lively and thoughtful conversations. Participants heard updates on the West Susitna Access Road, as well as a comprehensive update on Tourism and the future of Tourism in the Mat-Su.

The energy and enthusiasm displayed at this event underscore the vitality and commitment of our business community to drive growth and innovation.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all the speakers, sponsors, and participants who made this event a success. Your involvement is crucial as we continue to support and promote our region’s economic well-being.
