OCTOBER NEWS

As we embrace the spooky season and prepare for the arrival of winter, we’re thrilled to keep the momentum going with some exciting events on the horizon! Join us for the ‘Mat-Su: Thriving Together’ Luncheon (State of the Borough), where we’ll reflect on our community’s progress and look ahead to the future. Plus, registration is now open for the Mat-Su Fall Economic Forum on October 15th, where industry leaders and experts will discuss the economic landscape and key developments in our region— this is a must-attend event for anyone interested in the growth of Mat-Su!

And don't forget about Support Local November! This month-long initiative highlights our incredible local businesses. It’s the perfect opportunity to shop, dine, and support the amazing entrepreneurs who make our community thrive, coupled with a chance to win lots of cool prizes.

Also in October we say goodbye to our summer season Visitor Center Assistant, Drew, which means we also transition to winter hours. It was a great summer and we look forward to welcoming Drew back for his 4th summer season with us next May!

Stay tuned as we continue to bring you updates and more opportunities to celebrate our community during this festive time of year!

If you’ve driven by the Depot this summer, you likely noticed the buzz of activity. The new parking lot has been beautifully finished, offering more convenient and ample parking for all our visitors. Please be sure to utilize it when visiting the Chamber—it’s a significant improvement that enhances accessibility and ease of access to the Depot. While construction has paused for the winter, the work done so far is a big step toward modernizing the historic Depot while preserving its charm for future generations. We look forward to construction resuming in the spring and continuing these exciting developments that will positively impact our community. Thank you to the City of Wasilla for their dedication to making the Depot area a fantastic place for all to enjoy! We appreciate your patience and support during this transformative process and can’t wait to share the completed results in the coming year.
