This Fall 2026 issue of Live Work Learn highlights the many ways Washtenaw Community College is helping individuals grow, succeed, and “Keep Up the Good Work.” Whether you are building new skills, advancing your career, or exploring personal interests, WCC offers opportunities to support every stage of life and learning. Success looks different for everyone. For some, it begins with building foundational skills through our free Foundation Skills Lab for Washtenaw County residents age 18 and older. Others may be looking to start a new career or transition into a new field through Fast-Track Job Training, with potential funding assistance through University of Michigan Credit Union. Gregorio (Gregg) Perez is a multidisciplinary artist working in ceramics, printmaking and wood. Based in Dexter, Michigan, his work ranges from representational illustration to abstract expressionism. Since 2023, he has served as ceramics studio technician at WCC and has taught at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Gregg earned a degree in Industrial Design and Art from Western Michigan University in 1990.

You will review essential skills through videos, case studies and virtual simulations. The Michigan Board of Nursing (MBON) required competencies include head-to-toe assessment, vital signs, medication administration, documentation, infection control, surgical asepsis, fall prevention, body mechanics and transfers. Upon competent demonstration of skills, a certificate of completion will be issued.
