The #MeToo campaign has brought to light the extent to which our friends, co-workers, and loved ones are affected by power-based violence, but how do we help? Learn from the Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA) about the rights of survivors and how you can support those around you who have experienced harassment or assault.

SPRING BLOOD DRIVE

In an ever-changing world it is easy to feel overwhelmed by both local and global issues. This training will break down the basics of activism, including effective storytelling, lobbying, digital media strategies, and tips for planning or participating in a rally. Gain concrete skills, learn from experienced activists, and connect with others who want to make positive change in our community. Vegetarian dinner will be served. For those in their 20s and 30s.

This afternoon workshop will focus on the upcoming Passover holiday and include a panel, followed by breakout sessions, which will bring open-hearted and passionate discussion coupled with classical text study.

Sessions include Positive and Negative Liberty: Freedom from or Freedom to? – a close look at the role of freedom in the Passover story; Arami Oved Avi – The Central Midrash of the Haggadah which examines the midrash that defines the Haggadah; and Assuming Authority or Persuading the Powerful: How does an Egyptian Prince make change in Egypt? – an exploration of two Rabbinic stories of Moses’ attempts to bring justice to Egypt. 17
