Welcome from the Head Master
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions that we make as parents.
Our committed and dedicated staff work tirelessly to ensure that Warwick School is a place where your child will thrive. The school has always provided an education in the broadest sense, seeking to develop the talents of each and every pupil, always guided by the school motto, Altiora Peto, ‘I seek higher things’.
Our engaging staff foster a learning environment in which every pupil is challenged intellectually and thrives academically. An environment where they will be happy, cared for and have their interests ignited, whatever these may be.
We develop young men of character and talent, and central to this goal is the breadth and quality of our co-curricular provision. Every pupil within Warwick School benefits from a wealth of experiences outside the classroom that will broaden his horizons and develop his skills.
Our supportive and nurturing community ensures that pupils are known as individuals and celebrated whatever their strengths or abilities, enabling our young men to flourish in what is now, more than ever, a rapidly changing world. This is the ‘Warwick Way’

The Warwick Way
We know our pupils will be stepping into a changing world when they leave Warwick. And that is why our education is purposefully designed to equip them with the skills they need to thrive in this world, and meet the challenges which come their way, taking advantage of every opportunity.
As dedicated educators, our role is to equip our pupils with the knowledge, sensitivity, awareness, confidence and qualifications to realise their true potential, going into today’s world fully prepared, as truly rounded human beings with their own contribution to make.
Our belief
That leading rich and fulfilling lives, following callings and building careers goes hand-in-hand with valuing, aiming for and achieving excellent academic qualifications.
Our approach

Leadership
There are many ways for our pupils to become involved in the school community as active participants, taking on positions of leadership.
We believe this act of taking on responsibility is important for the pupils’ happiness, sense of wellbeing and development of their character – all things which will stand them in good stead when they leave Warwick.
We also aim to ensure the following:
• To give pupils an opportunity to have their ideas and feedback heard, and their questions answered
• To encourage pupil participation – be part of the solution, not just complain about the problem
• To give leadership opportunities in a range of areas of school life
• To increase pupil participation in aspects of the wider school organisation and their own areas of interest
• To enable greater collaboration between us, the other Foundation schools and the local community.
There are many leadership opportunities within the school, including on the teaching and learning team, where feedback is sought from pupils on a range of classroom-based topics.
Pupils can also seek to take on roles in the Sixth Form team, which is jointly run with the girls at King’s High School and aims to influence how the Sixth Form Centre runs.
Other opportunities include catering – influencing decisions about food with the Head Chef – as well as wellbeing, the environmental agenda and a range of other areas.

Teaching & learning
While our curriculum is broad and encompassing of a full range of subjects and our examinations results consistently place us among the leading schools in the country, we recognise that to be successful requires our pupils to develop as learners.
To facilitate their learning, at whatever stage of their Warwick School career, all pupils are encouraged to adopt the school’s learning values. These values are more than just a set of words. They represent a learning philosophy that if followed, will not only lead to academic success at school but also provide the foundations for success at university and the wider world. The education is provided by employing the highest quality staff, alongside outstanding facilities and resources.
CREATIVITY
COURAGE

• Weekend clubs that cater to an ever more diverse set of interests.
Examples of activities that pupils can enjoy across the programme are...
• Animal care

...and many, many more.
“Each and every Warwick School pupil has something that is their passion. We have pupils in school who are sailors, scuba divers, chess players, astronomers, actors, musicians, computer programmers or spend their time volunteering in a variety of settings.
As a community it is vital we are inclusive to all pupils, whatever their passion or interest, respecting their dedication and admiring the work they put into it. We can learn so much from each other.”
Mr Barker, Head Master
Pupil Voice
As a school we believe it is very important that our pupils are not only responsible members of the school community but also active participants. This is important for their happiness, sense of wellbeing and the development of their character.
Pupil Voice provides a valuable opportunity for our pupils to engage with school life in a positive way, through having their feedback heard, leading their own initiatives and encouraging increased involvement in a wide variety of areas.
Wellbeing
Our Wellbeing Hub offers a space where pupils can get support when they are in crisis, or when they might just need a bit of support on a difficult day. Featuring a sensory room, a multi-faith prayer space, therapy spaces, individual enclosed work spaces, and a communal space for drop-in sessions with peer mentors, this is a welcoming and important new development in our pastoral offering.
Boarding at Warwick
For boys who choose to board at Warwick, the School has accommodation for 60 boarders in our beautiful boarding house, School House.
Modern and comfortable accommodation provides a home from home, supported by a specialist staff of house parents, tutors and domestic staff. The house provides excellent support structures to boarders from overseas, new to studying in England, which enables them to settle very quickly into life away from home.
School House is run by resident house parents with an assistant house parent.
Home to pupils from age 13-18 (Year 9 - Year 13), there are a number of single rooms for those in Year 13, otherwise our rooms have two or three boarders sharing together. School House is in the beautiful surroundings of the main historic Warwick School building and has modern bathroom facilities, social spaces and WiFi throughout.
Catering
All meals are taken in the main dining hall. The Food Committee, which is made up of boys in each year group, meet regularly with the Head Chef to select varied and nutritious menus for the boarders.
In addition, senior boys also have their own kitchen in which they can prepare occasional meals, light snacks and drinks. Boarders are also encouraged to visit the local shops to buy provisions for themselves and have access to a range of supermarkets.
School life
Our boarders fit in seamlessly with our day pupils here at Warwick, and equally form the fabric of our community. From learning and socialising with the day pupils throughout the school day, to staying on the campus when the day has finished to relax and enjoy the boarding facilities, our boarders will truly feel the warmth of the Warwick community.
At Warwick School, boarders enjoy numerous activities, events and trips through the week. Each year we aim to accommodate the interests and suggestions of the pupils so that activities and excursions are well attended. Boarders learn to manage their time effectively and achieve a healthy balance between study and leisure time.

Welcome from the Head Master
A King’s High education opens doors, hearts, and minds.
As one of the UK’s leading schools for girls, we are educating the Changemakers of the future – young women who will go out into the world and make a positive difference, inspired by strong values and a powerful sense of social responsibility.
We welcome students aged 11 to 18 and work with them to nurture talents, build confidence and enable them to succeed and thrive. We are proud to put each girl’s wellbeing and aspirations at the heart of all we do, preparing them for a life of fulfilment and to be a force for good in society.
In our rapidly changing world, we know that our students will need core skills and values to enable them to thrive: creativity and curiosity; empathy and emotional intelligence; teamwork, networking and leadership opportunities – as well as the digital skills that are so valuable in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
Our forward-thinking and future-inspired curriculum is carefully designed to nurture and develop these skills, building the confidence and self-belief for leadership. As a flagship centre for creative thinking, we combine high standards and high ambitions with a warm, caring and nurturing approach and outstanding pastoral care, based on a strong culture of wellbeing. We work in partnership with our parents and our families to ensure that each girl enjoys a happy and fulfilling experience.
There is no typical King’s High girl. Instead, we celebrate individuality, diversity and difference as we respond to the unique strengths and interests of each and every student. Whilst our academic results are superb, our focus is on the complete educational experience and our extensive co-curricular programme and partnerships in our local community attest to this fully.
As part of Warwick Schools Foundation, we operate within a wider family of schools that provides unparalleled opportunities to combine the very best traditions of girls’ education with all the benefits of co-educational opportunities outside of the classroom.
In September 2019, we moved from our home of 140 years on Smith Street in Warwick into our world-class, state-of-the-art new school on our Foundation campus. As one of the largest investments in girls’ education in the UK, Project One Campus is testament to our determination to create inspirational spaces for our students.
It is my great privilege to be Head Master of this exceptional school and I look forward to welcoming you to our remarkable community of Changemakers.
Dr Stephen Burley, Head Master
Future-readiness
The highest quality teaching coupled with exciting learning experiences are at the heart of the King’s experience.
We blend innovative and interactive learning techniques with the latest knowledge and the highest standard of teaching and wellbeing, encouraging independent thinking and happy, confident girls who know they can achieve anything they set out to do.
Each and every girl is known as an individual, which ensures that your daughter’s teachers will always know her strengths and areas for development, as well as interests and passions. Our superb staff are highly skilled and well-versed in cutting-edge training and learning techniques.
All departments are exceptionally well-resourced. All girls are supported and stretched throughout their learning journey, both in the classroom and also through our extensive range of lunchtime clubs. Our aim is that all girls achieve as highly as possible and to the very best of their abilities, whilst thoroughly enjoying their lessons. This empowerment enables them to meet – and often exceed –their personal goals and objectives and embodies our ethos of Aspire, Achieve and Enjoy.
We are proud of the tremendous success rate that we have in enabling our girls to gain the best possible grades, leading to the achievement of places at top universities and on sought-after, competitive courses. Our results do, truly, speak for themselves.
“The school’s curriculum has been reimagined, positioning core skills such as creative thinking and oracy at its centre. This has brought the launch of two GCSE-equivalent courses which prepare students for an evolving future, whilst inspiring their social responsibilities as individuals who can drive change.”
ISA, 2023
Our Future-Ready courses
Alongside the richness of GCSE content and the structure provided by examinations, pupils often benefit from having more space for creativity and exploration during Years 10 and 11. We have therefore decided to offer GCSE pupils the option of completing one or two Future-Ready Courses, which have been designed by King’s High staff.
The courses provide cutting edge content alongside innovative methods of assessment. The topics on offer in these courses will help King’s High pupils to stand out from the crowd and to gain knowledge in subjects that will equip them for a bright future.

Academics
At King’s High School, we want our girls to be ready to step into a changing world when they leave us and make a positive difference. This means that we want our students to both acquire new knowledge while they are with us but also learn how to make positive changes.
Our academic education is set up to make this happen – King’s pupils learn to be independent, collaborative, persistent, inquisitive and imaginative. We believe that each of these dispositions will enable pupils to thrive well beyond their time at school.
Our broadest goal is to prepare pupils to seize the opportunities that lie ahead of them as rounded, outward-looking individuals who have every chance of flourishing in their future lives.
For the very first time, students were awarded grades on our new Future-Ready Courses, innovative alternatives to GCSEs with a broader range of assessment methods. Following two years’ study of modules including entrepreneurship, climate change, sustainable engineering, social justice, data analysis, global perspectives, law and neuroscience, students celebrated results on our Global Changemaker and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programmes.
GCSE results 2024:
33% of all grades 9 59% of all grades 9-8 80% of all grades 9-7
I am delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Upper Sixth students. They have done so well and worked incredibly hard. They are a fantastic cohort and it was a special moment to come together to congratulate them. They all have very bright futures ahead of them.”
Dr Burley, Head Master

School is rich and varied – with something for every girl both in and out of the classroom.
Outside the classroom
We have over 230 co-curricular clubs and activities on offer at lunchtime and after school.
Our co-curricular programme is aimed at doing more than helping our girls to achieve outstanding academic results. We want to:
• Encourage them to develop personal interests
• Broaden their horizons
• Develop artistically, socially and creatively.
Our belief in the benefits of offering a large variety of clubs and activities lends itself to our wholehearted desire to provide a holistically beneficial experience at King’s High School.
Girls can pursue their own interests and discover new ones while making new friends from other forms and year groups. Staff also offer a range of subject workshops for support at all ages.
Teaching & learning
At King’s High, we pride ourselves on the excellence of our staff and the outstanding progress pupils make as a result of inspirational teaching.
We also place emphasis on the importance of pupils growing as independent thinkers who relish new challenges and have wide horizons for their learning.
As a Centre for Creative Thinking, we are at the forefront of reflecting on how best to prepare young people for the exciting future that lies ahead of them.
Within the classroom, teachers at King’s seek to provide high-level teaching and learning that inspires all pupils, including the gifted and talented. Thought-provoking extension work, open-ended questions that stimulate link-making and critical ideas and creative problem solving are all part of the teaching toolkit at King’s.
As a leading UK girls’ school, pupil achievement is superb. Yet our outstanding results are only part of the picture. The quality of our curriculum works in tandem with the wealth of wider opportunities available to pupils. We never solely aim for high attainment in tests and exam – King’s pupils are also passionate about ideas and keen to look deeply into the changing questions and emerging issues that shape our world.

The wellbeing of each pupil is central to all we do.
At King’s High, we are proud of our excellent work to promote the wellbeing of every student to enable them to navigate today’s society and the overcome the challenges it presents. We are wholeheartedly committed to the very highest standards of holistic education to ensure that a supportive culture of wellbeing is embedded fully into the lived daily experiences our student, helping them to develop the lifelong habits and routines of wellness to enjoy a rich and flourishing life.
Boarding at King’s High School
The girls’ boarding house, Way House, provides comfortable, ‘home from home’, family-like accommodation for our boarders. It is carefully styled to provide modern and homely accommodation in what is a beautiful heritage building, with high ceilings and large windows.
Bedrooms are spacious and double occupancy. They include study and relaxation space. A generous sitting room and a boarders’ kitchen complete the accommodation, along with bathrooms.
For breakfast and dinner, the whole boarding community comes together to eat in the Warwick School dining room. Lunch is served with the entire school community in the King’s High dining hall.
Our boarding experience for girls mirrors the experience across our Warwick campus: a single-sex boarding house with opportunities to enjoy social activities with the boy boarders of Warwick School.
Best of Both Worlds – our Sixth Forms
At Warwick School and King’s High School, our pupils benefit from what we like to call ‘the best of both worlds’. This is especially true in our Sixth Forms.
We know how important it is to prepare our pupils for university and beyond.
Our unique experience in Warwick provides this ‘best of both worlds’ – academic single-sex teaching with co-educational co-curricular opportunities outside the classroom.
This means our Sixth Form students benefit from:
• Teaching in single-sex environments which closely meet the needs of both boys and girls
• Opportunities for boys and girls to socialise together
• Creativity and participation in the classroom

Boarding life at Warwick School & King’s High School
A typical day as a boarder
A boarder has structure to their day but not to the extent that they cannot enjoy time to themselves. We carefully monitor the time spent working and playing to ensure every boarder achieves their full potential whilst developing lifelong friendships and interests.
Breakfast at 7.30–8.00am, after which school starts at 8.40am for morning lessons
A typical day consists of
After roll call at 9.30pm, there is free time before bed for pupils to get themselves ready for the next day
Lunch at 1.05pm
A typical weekend consists of:
Saturdays
School is still busy with sports fixtures, some day pupils in school and a whole range of activities.
At the end of afternoon lessons, boarders have games or some free time. They also have access to the Library for supervised prep (homework) sessions
Supper is at 6.30pm each evening, before a range of sports centre activities, excursions or informal house-based activities
Sundays
Opportunity for trips and visits to surrounding areas, as well as time to prepare for the week ahead. Many of these are optional, and pupils in exam year groups can also opt in to study sessions.
Beyond the school gates
At Warwick School and King’s High School, we want a pupil’s boarding experience to be one of enrichment. To that end, we organise a host of activities and opportunities – with boarders’ input – to help immerse them into our community and culture, both locally and further afield.
Residential weekends
Every year boarders are offered the chance to participate in residential weekends to explore the varied landscape and history of Britain or to visit other schools for sporting events. For example, a popular destination is North Wales where they are able to explore Snowdonia National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Younger boarders spend one weekend, together with their house parents, away from school in cities such as Oxford or Bath. A recent trip to the north of England gave the footballers an opportunity to play several games of football against other schools and attend a Premier League football match at Old Trafford.
Other recent trips have included Birmingham city centre and Bicester Outlet Village, for boarders to enjoy a wide range of shopping activities.
Regular excursions
Regular trips are organised to the Birmingham Sea Life Centre and Tamworth Snowdome, with other activities arranged including tenpin bowling, paintballing, and go karting. Towards Christmas the boarders are encouraged to purchase gifts for family and friends from the varied choice of winter markets and shopping centres.
Foreign trips
Every year a trip to one of the major European cities is organised, visiting such places as Rome, Paris and Barcelona.
Community and voluntary work
Each senior boarder spends part of their time contributing to community or voluntary organisations. Some of our pupils visit primary schools to help local children with Mathematics and Science, whilst others volunteer in local charity shops.
Entry requirements
To ensure pupils meet the academic criteria at our schools they will take entrance exams. If living abroad, it is possible to arrange for entrance tests to take place in a pupil’s current school should the Head of the school be in agreement, or at a British Council office or an approved agent of Warwick Schools Foundation.
Admissions process
To enquire about a place, please send the pupil’s full name, date of birth and last two school reports to us.
If we are satisfied, we will invite the pupil to register. On receiving the registration form and registration payment, we will contact you to arrange:
• A ssessment papers (in Maths and English)
• An interview with the Head of Boarding, International Boarding Consultant or Head Master.
On review of the above assessments, we will be able to determine if we are able to make an offer.
Please note that a nonrefundable deposit of half a term’s tuition and boarding fee is required on acceptance of the offer.
Fees
Please see website for current fees.
Extras for boarders include:
• A small charge made for school and boarding house trips and excursions. Parents are billed every term for these
• Return transfers to the airport at the beginning and end of term
• Phone calls made using the school’s landline phones.
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
At our schools extra tuition is offered to boarders for whom English is a foreign language to help improve their English skills. The EAL Department has an expert team of highly qualified and experienced teachers.
Pupils whose English reaches near-native proficiency are eligible for transfer to mainstream English classes and pupils are considered on an individual basis.
There is no additional cost for EAL tuition.
