At the outset of product development, ergonomists can help with advice on design – not only to have a unique product but also one which will meet standards. If no ergonomic standards exist, then FIRA International can work to develop and publish new ones.

There is also the FIRA International Ergonomics Excellence Award which recognizes companies who design and manufacture ergonomically outstanding products.

HEALTH AND SAFETY AND DSE REGULATIONS ASSESSMENTS

FIRA International’s ergonomists have experience within the work, leisure and educational environments. They offer designers and manufacturers ergonomic advice and testing services to optimize their products, comply with British and European Standards, avoid product failures and differentiate their products from those of their competitors.

Checking the compliance of office, school and domestic furniture, equipment and work environments with Health & Safety and DSE (Display Screen Equipment) regulations.

FIRA INTERNATIONAL ERGONOMICS EXCELLENCE AWARD The FIRA International Ergonomics Excellence Award recognizes companies who design and manufacture ergonomically outstanding products, especially those that meet and generally exceed the requirements of British and European standards.

Any product can apply for the Ergonomics Excellence Award, whether it be domestic, contract, office, school, hospital, leisure etc.

Ergonomically excellent products span everything from the most simple, to feature rich ones. It all comes down to how they benefit the user.

Assessments to identify design improvements to increase safety, e.g. decreasing risk of finger entrapment etc.

STANDARDS TESTING AND DIMENSIONAL TESTING The ergonomics team can test to various British and International standards, alongside checking dimensions to certify products. They can rigorously test all office, school and domestic furniture, equipment and work environments to existing Standards.
