On behalf of the Parks & Recreation Board and Parks & Recreation staff, it is our honor to serve you and provide the best opportunities possible, for active and passive recreation, to the Warrensburg Community.

Along with our Activity Guide, we are happy that we once again have joined with the City of Warrensburg Administration to include a copy of THE WARRENSBURG LEGEND.

With spring underway and summer right around the corner, we are excited for the many programs and opportunities that are available at the Community Center, Nassif Outdoor Pool and our 9 neighborhood parks within the City of Warrensburg. New this year will be 6 outdoor Pickleball Courts, that will be completed soon. A special thank you to Barry and Diane Whitworth of the BLAINE WHITWORTH “Go Big or Go Home” FOUNDATION. It is from their generous offer, combined with our Parks & Recreation resources that some of the Tennis Courts at Grover Park will be renovated into new Pickleball Courts. Watch for the announcement on the grand opening for this new facility very soon.

The work continues on the Indoor Pool, as the surface paint from previous work is not performing as anticipated and renovation of this pool is necessary. We are working on this project as fast as we can, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. We have this project posted on our website and staff will continue to keep the public informed until the project is complete.

All Guests have FREE access to the Indoor Track and Gym Must be 17+ to use Fitness Center

All Access Passes provide exclusive access to our award-winning Fitness Center, Indoor Track, gymnasium, Indoor Aquatic Center, and all group exercise classes. Guests must check in at the Front Desk and have a wristband to use the facilities. All guests must have an account with Parks & Rec to use our facilities and classes. Guests 11-17 must have an account and a Youth Contract on file to enter the Community Center unaccompanied. Front Desk staff will be happy to sign you up!

Billing: Monthly passes are billed on the 16th of the month. Payments are automatically withdrawn from the card or banking account provided. Monthly Fee Return: A $25 service fee is assessed for each returned fee/check.

Membership Cancellation: Cancellation forms are obtained at the Front Desk and must be completed, signed and received by us before the end of the month, prior to the next billing. The only person who may cancel membership is the one who signed the membership application. Memberships are automatically renewed if not prepaid. NO REFUNDS.

WARRENSBURG COMMUNITY CENTER AGE RESTRICTIONS

• Youth 10 and under - Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian(age 18+) within the WCC at all times.

• Youths 11-17 years old entering the facility unaccompanied by an adult(age 18+) MUST have a Parks and Rec Account and a WCC Youth Account Contract signed by youth and guardian on file BEFORE using the facility. A parent/guardian must come into the WCC to fill out the contract. Can only use the gym without parent supervision. 16 and under must be accompanied/supervised by an adult to use the track. Is not allowed access to the fitness center.

• Youths 16-17 years old who enter the facility unaccompanied by an adult(age 18+) MUST have a Parks and Rec Account and a WCC Youth Account Contract signed by the youth and guardian and on file before using the facility. A parent/guardian must come into the WCC to fill out the contract. Can use the gym, fitness center, and track without adult supervision.

WHAT ELSE DO WE OFFER?

Whether you want to get in shape, go for a swim, hold a business meeting, family reunion or birthday party, or just hang out with friends and have fun, the Warrensburg Community Center (WCC) is a great place for you! We recently debut new equipment this Summer including new treadmills, weight benches, and stationary equipment! Fitness Center We offer a wide variety of fitness equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes (recumbent and upright), weight machines, free weights, kettle bells, exercise balls and much more! Exercise and fitness classes for all ages are held daily in the stateof-the-art aerobics room.

Walking Track Our walking track circles the community center on the 2nd level and overlooks the Indoor Pool area and is free to use with check-in at the front desk. 11⅓ laps around the track equals 1 mile. Anyone under 18 years old must have a signed youth contract & be at least 16 years old.

WCC Indoor Aquatic Center Features a lap and leisure pool, hot tub, zero-entry splash pool with 2 slides, and mushroom fountain!

7 Reservable Rooms Can accommodate meetings, special family events, and programs of all shapes and sizes. Whether hosting a small event or one for 200, Warrensburg Parks & Recreation (WPR) can help! See details on Pages 5-6.

WCC Gymnasium Features 1 regulation size basketball court or 2 courts with 6 basketball goals, 2 volleyball courts, bleachers, and 3 pickleball courts.

Warrensburg Parks & Recreation believes all youth should have the opportunity to participate in recreation activities. The Youth Scholarship Fund is partially funded by donations and sponsorships. Scholarship applications are available at the Warrensburg Community Center.

GENERAL INFO

• Reservations are only guaranteed with full payment.

• Facilities reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance. Requests under 14 days in advance must be approved by management and may be subject to additional fees.

• Facilities may be reserved up to 90 days in advance with full payment.

• Decorations are only allowed on tables. No confetti, wall and/or ceiling decorations allowed. Tableware and linens are not provided.

• Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in park buildings, or on any park grounds.

• All park buildings are smoke free.

• Dances are not permitted without prior management approval.

• Entry to rooms/buildings is not permitted prior to the reservation time. Set-ups & cleanup must be included in the reserved time. Fees will be charged for early arrivals and late departures.

• Field reservations are subject to availability/field conditions and may be reserved no more than 1 month in advance. WPR sanctioned games and practices take priority over outside rentals.

• Cancellation/Refund requests should be made at least 30 days prior to rental date. A $5 fee will be assessed if approved. No refunds for requests less than 15 days before reserved date

• Shelter reservations are non-refundable. Visit our website for more information.

Marr Park is a stunning park located at the intersection of Broad and Tyler Street. This park spans across 11.6 acres and boasts numerous amenities such as a walking trail, a basketball court, a picnic shelter, restrooms, a playground, and a 9-hole disc golf course. Marr Park is also the permanent location of our Shamrock Shuffle 5K! The Warrensburg Optimist Club sponsors this park and has invested countless hours and funds to help maintain it.

Come join us at Warrensburg Parks & Recreation for a fun-filled summer of adventures, laughter, learning, and making new friends! We have a variety of activities planned, including themed weeks, daily swimming, gym time, nature exploration, park visits, and arts and crafts. Plus, we will be going on exciting field trips too! Don't worry about meals because we'll provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks for your kiddos. Get ready for a summer of fun!

The recreational league will include travel to local towns that also participate within the Glen W. Shippy League. Good sportsmanship will be required of all players and coaches at all times.

GAME DAYS: Games will start the first week of May. Each team will play 10 regular season games, but is subject to change based on weather cancellation. Each team will be guaranteed a game in the end-of-season tournament. Playoffs will be held the week of June 26. Championship games would be held after the Fourth of July.

Join us as Spring is in full bloom at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. We will attend a guided tour of the Arboretum before lunch on your own at Cafe Celeste. There will be 2-3 person carts for rent for those who can't walk long distances. We will meet at the Warrensburg Community Center at 8:45am and leave at 9:00am. We intend to arrive back at the WCC at 3:00pm.

Dive beneath the waves with us at Starlight Theater with the beloved tale of a young mermaid named Ariel who dreams of a world beyond her own. We will meet at the Warrensburg Community Center at 5:15pm and leave at 5:30pm. We intend to arrive back at the WCC at 12:00am, midnight.

Explore stories of courage and sacrifice that shaped the world as we tour the National WWI Museum! After visiting the museum, with your free time you will be able to take the streetcar for lunch on your own. Admission to the observation deck at the top of the Liberty Memorial Tower is an additional $3. We will meet at the Warrensburg Community Center at 8:45am and leave at 9:00am. We meet back at the bus at 3pm to return to the WCC by 4:30pm.

Join us for our 24th Annual Freedom Fest 5K sponsored by VF Granite! We will award 1st and 2nd place medals for both male and female runners. All participants who complete the race will receive a medal. If you register by June 14th, we guarantee you a T-shirt in your size. Children ages 5 and under can participate for free with a registered adult. Children ages 5 and under must register to recieve a t-shirt. Strollers and dogs are also welcome. You can pick up your race packet starting on Thursday, June 27th at the Warrensburg Community Center. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Join us for Aqua Camp! Each day campers will have a swimming lesson, summer time craft, games, water safety instruction, a snack and lots of fun! Aqua Camp will be held Monday thru Thursday at Nassif Aquatic Center from 10AM-12PM. Parents will be notified by email (the email address used when registering) if plans change due to inclement weather. Please have camper arrive in swimsuit with towel. Goggles and bottle of water are optional. If your child is enrolled in Summer Day Camp and would like a counselor to bring them to Aqua Camp, please note in registration.

Participant and/or participant’s parent or legal guardian, if participant is not of legal age of consent, knows and understands by attending or registering for activities, that the City of Warrensburg may be taking and using digital images or photographs of this event and that the individual has no expectation of privacy by participating in the event. By registering for this activity, parent is acknowledging that there is no legal prohibition of the parent or legal guardian’s ability to consent to the taking and use of images to promote this activity and fully consents to the City of Warrensburg’s usage of any images generated in conjunction with this activity. The parent or legal guardian must inform Parks and Recreation staff if there is any reason which would preclude the use of images taken in conjunction with this activity for promotional purposes only.

REFUND POLICY

Recreation Programs – Refunds may be given for injury or illness (with doctor's note). 100% refund if cancelled by WPR. Prorated if program has begun. No refund after program is completed.

Sports/Athletics – Full or prorated refunds may be given based on date of request, less processing fees. No refund after schedule is released. Special rules apply to Team Sports.

Membership Passes – Only Annual Memberships are eligible. Prorated, less processing fees.

Facility Rentals – 30 days before: 100% refund less processing fee. 15-29 days before: 50% refund. 0-14 days before: No refund.

Shelter Rentals – Non-Refundable.

All approved refunds are subject to processing fees. Other restrictions/rules apply, see website for full details. Rules and policies are subject to change.
