Hello Warrensburg area community members, it is an honor to serve as the Interim Director for Warrensburg Parks & Recreation. Since mid-November, there have been many new additions to our Parks & Recreation Department. With the support and direction of the Parks & Recreation Board, and work of our awesome Parks & Recreation Staff Team, we just celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Community Center services to the City of Warrensburg. This celebration was combined with the re-opening of the Indoor Pool. We have added new hours of open swim to the indoor pool schedule and look forward to other facility changes for the Community Center soon. In the past 3 months, we have added over 150 new Community Center Members, which includes returning members, so thank you for your support and welcome back!
We are pleased to announce that we are adding a Building Supervisor position to our staff team, who will monitor after school and high-volume activity during the Community Center open hours. Swim lessons are selling out, registration for Spring Sports and Summer Day Camp starts soon. Also enjoy our 400 plus acres of parkland through our area parks, including playgrounds, trails, sports fields, water areas and plenty of open space. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact my office or our Parks & Recreation staff team, as we appreciate your participation in Warrensburg Parks & Recreation programs and activities.

INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND AT CAVE HOLLOW
What started as a dream has become a reality, thanks to a lot of hard work, effort, and dedication.
The Inclusive Playground at Cave Hollow Park, a joint project between Warrensburg Parks and Recreation (WPR), the City of Warrensburg and Johnson County Board of Services (JCBS), began in 2016 as an idea to create a family-friendly, all-inclusive recreation space where everyone, of all ages and abilities, can play to the greatest extent possible. Funding was provided by WPR, the City of Warrensburg, JCBS, fundraising projects, and grants from the Department of Natural Resources and the Missouri Parks & Recreation Association, in partnership with Gametime and Playcore.
WPR is proud to join our partners in providing equal access to everyone as we connect and engage children, families, and communities Visit www.spirittrail.org for more information!
