Walking Track

Our walking track circles the Community Center on the 2nd level and overlooks the Indoor Pool area and is free to use with check-in at the front desk. 11⅓ times around the track equals 1 mile. Children 13 & younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Our fitness center has been named 'Best Fitness Center' in the 'Burg two years in a row for good reason. We offer a wide variety of fitness equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes (recumbent and upright), weight machines, free weights, kettle bells, exercise balls and much more! Exercise and fitness classes for all ages are held daily in the state-of-the-art aerobics room.

Phase 1 was completed in the late 1990s, but it did not fully connect the two locations. In 2012, the Johnson County Trail Coalition, now known as the Spirit Trails Coalition, organized to continue a countywide pedestrian and bicycle trail system. A ribbon cutting for the eastern section of the trail was held October 16, 2018. The Spirit Trail is A 10-foot-wide asphalt pedestrian and bicycle trail running along State Highway DD from Warrensburg to Knob Noster State Park. The Spirit Trail is managed by multiple entities. RENTAL INFORMATION ABC BUILDING 415 Commander Dr. Rents for $25/hr. $125 damage deposit check required. Charges may be assessed for failure to abide contract, excessive cleanup, or damages. If no damage or trash, key is returned and department rules are followed, the deposit check will be returned within 7 days of end of reservation. AQUATICS Warrensburg Parks & Recreation SWIM LESSONS All lessons are held at the Community Center Indoor Pool. Water Babies are 30 minutes and levels 1-6 are 45 minutes. Warrensburg Parks & Recreation SPORTS Structure: This is a program for boys and girls ages 3-4 that are new to Soccer. They will be introduced to the sport with basic fundamentals and drills led by WPR staff. Parents are encouraged to get involved with the fun and participate or help assist with any drills or games.

This includes the head coaches’ kid(s), and one assistant coach kid(s). The remainder of the roster will be assigned by WPR staff.

CHAIR YOGA Move your body through seated and standing Yoga poses while using a chair. Safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Breathing exercises and final relaxation will reduce stress and improve mental clarity.

CARDIO STRENGTH Cardio strength workout suitable for all levels of fitness and dance experience. Add in strength training by using a variety of equipment. This is a wellrounded workout that will make you MOVE. SILVERCLASSICSNEAKERS Move to music through exercises designed to increase muscular strength and range of movement. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for support.

GET FIT! This group exercise class helps individuals maintain strength, flexibility, mobility, endurance and cardiovascular ability by using weights, resistance bands, weight machines and more. WARRIOR CLUB Challenge yourself with this fast- paced, calorie-blasting workout, using the cross training style approach. All levels are welcome.

VINYASA YOGA This class emphasizes movement sequences that flow continuously with traditional Sun Salutations, standing, seated and balancing poses. Vinyasa will also help you link breathing with movement and build strength and endurance as you challenge your limits of balance and flexibility

POWER HOUR A fun, fast paced routine that targets all major muscle groups for a full body workout. It involves rotating between strength and cardio exercise stations to help build strength and endurance in a short amount of time. It is suitable for all ability levels and can be customized based on ability level and still make you sweat!

DANCE FITNESS Dance Fitness is an exhilarating cardio class to radio hits (pop, club, hip hop) with easy-to-follow moves combining fast & slow rhythms (interval training) to tone & sculpt your body while burning fat.

BARRESCULPT Ballet-inspired movements along with motivating music to improve posture, muscle tone, balance, coordination, flexibility, and body awareness. AQUACISE This water fitness class is designed as a high intensity water aerobics class. Water resistance provides muscular strengthening and endurance as well as a great cardiovascular workout. You may want to wear water shoes.

Coaches Meeting: All coaches meetings will be held at the Community Center during the week of November 14th. WPR staff will contact all coaches in advance with times and dates. Game Schedule: Games are played on either Friday evenings, (5:30pm-8:30pm) or Saturdays (8:30am-6pm).

Program Format: This instructional program is geared toward ages 5-6. Kids will play on modified courts and goals. Teams will be formed by staff prior to the start of the program. Volunteer coaches are needed.

Equipment Provided: WPR will provide league monitor, basketballs, and each participant will receive an official WPR Little Hoopsters shirt to be worn for games and practices. Practice/Game Days: Practices will be held each Tuesdays for one hour between 5:30PM -7:30. Program Format: 5 week program designed for children ages 3-4 years old. This program is a great way to introduce a child to the sport of basketball. Kids rotate between 3 drill stations at timed intervals. Stations include dribbling, passing, and shooting. Parents are encouraged to participate and join in on the fun!
