2026 Summer Course Offerings
HEALTH Grade Level: 9- Credit: 0.5 Session 1: June 1st - June 12th 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM - on campus Session 2: July 6th - July 17th – 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - remote on Zoom Health is a course that could be thought of as a life management class, as an emphasis will be placed on how decisions, actions, and lifestyle choices during teen years can affect a person’s adult life. Topics to be covered include: a healthy foundation, mental and emotional health, the skeletal, muscular and integumentary systems, the cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive systems, the reproductive system, and drugs and alcohol. This course is a Missouri Department of Secondary Education requirement. This course has two summer session offerings. Note: If the student is taking both Health and Ceramics on campus they should plan on bringing a lunch, there will be no cafeteria service.
PERSONAL FINANCE Grade Level: 11 – 12 - Credit: 0.5
Session 1: June 1st – June 12th – Meeting dates: June 1st, June 3rd, June 8th, June 10th, and June 12th – remaining coursework completed asynchronously with scheduled instructor meetings. Personal Finance equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions. This course addresses real-world financial issues such as budgeting, credit management, and long-term financial planning. Students will explore how their choices impact future occupational options and financial stability. This course is an Incarnate Word Academy graduation requirement as it fulfills the Missouri Department of Secondary Education Personal Finance requirement.

This course introduces students to the knowledge and techniques of working with clay. Students will create functional and sculptural three-dimensional artwork using a variety of ceramic construction techniques.
This college-level course builds on the fundamentals learned in Intro to Ceramics. Students will further develop their skills and techniques while creating functional and sculptural ceramic artwork.
Throughout the course, students will complete the creative process required for ceramic artists, from concept development to finished pieces. Note: If the student is taking both Health and Ceramics on campus they should plan on bringing a lunch, as there will be no cafeteria service.

SCI 500 – HONORS GENETICS Grade Level: 10 – 12 Credit: 0.5

Students will continue developing advanced ceramic skills by focusing on more complex hand-building or wheel-throwing techniques. The course emphasizes the creation of sculptural or functional ceramic artwork while encouraging students to refine their individual artistic voice. This is an advanced course in which students will primarily work independently while completing the creative process required for ceramic artists.
Honors Genetics is conducted online. The teacher will be available to answer questions through email and will hold a scheduled virtual appointment each week. This course explores the science of heredity, from its molecular basis and how it determines the traits of individuals to how it affects entire populations of organisms over time. Students will gain evolutionary and genetic tools to better understand the world around them.
Note: Students should plan to bring their lunch, as there will be no cafeteria service.
SCI 510 - HONORS TOPICS IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE | Grade Level: 10 – 12 Credit: 0.5 Honors Topics in Biomedical Science is conducted online. The teacher will be available for questions through email and will hold a scheduled virtual appointment each week. This course explores a variety of topics within biomedical science, including prevalent and impactful diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders, and neurological disorders. Students will also study injuries such as common sports injuries, orthopedic interventions, and current issues in global health.
