BioSystems Australia

Paul Cox saw a need for an environmentally friendly way to clean up effluent waste that was cost effective and easy to use. He liaised with a world leading waste water remedial company to come up with a formula/ products to suit the Australian conditions. Thus BioSystems Crust Buster was born. Biosystems Australia is an Australian distributor of Roebic’s.

We specialize in highly effective eco friendly cleaning products and water saving solutions based on Bio-Bacterial technology.

Our innovative technology consists of billions of specifically selected bacteria that target and digest organic matter eliminating the source of cleaning problems rather than masking them.

This process guarantees a natural way to treat common cleaning problems with no need for harsh chemicals cleaners, making cleaning practices simpler and greener.

The bacteria used in our products contain different strains of bacillus bacteria capable of producing enzymes, resulting in extremely powerful biological products which break down and digest the source of the problems.

Our bacteria are capable of multiplying every 15minutes, increasing their population whilst creating and releasing enzymes and bio-surfactants that work effectively on organic sources taking all the hard work out of cleaning.

Catch up with Landcare at the expo

Local staff from Bass Coast and South Gippsland Landcare Networks will be at the expo with lots of information to share. Both networks have regular free sessions for farmers, covering topics such as weed & pest animal control, managing soil and pastures, growing multispecies pastures, whole farm planning courses, making your own biofertilisers, and more.

Free Landcare field day on multispecies pastures at a dairy farm

Hear about upcoming sessions you might like to attend.

Farmers are welcome to come and chat about weed identification (bring a sample if you’d like) and weed control, or revegetation opportunities.

Members of the Gippsland Threatened Species Action Group will also be there with information about projects, and about our local threatened species such as the Giant Gippsland Earthworm.

It’s only found in our region, often occurs in gullies and around soaks, and lives happily underneath cattle pastures, improving the soil.

A Giant Gippsland Census is currently underway to find out how this species is faring. As it is mostly found on private land, landholder feedback is essential.

We have developed a free Giant Gippsland Earthworm app (search for Giant Gippsland Earthworm and choose the cartoon worm logo in your App store) to make it quick and easy to share where colonies are found.

Information gathered will help researchers develop programs to work with landholders who are interested in conserving this threatened species on their properties.

Celebrating the South Gippsland Dairy & Farming Expo 2025

This September marks a significant event for our region with the 26th South Gippsland Dairy & Farming Expo, to be held on September 3 and 4 September 2025 at the Korumburra Showgrounds.

For a quarter of a century, this event has stood as a proud symbol of the determination and innovation our local dairy industry.

Across 25 years, this expo has connected farmers, businesses and families, as well as showcasing the very best of Monash agriculture. It has connected and supported our local community.

Recently, I’ve spent time with many of our farmers who are doing it tough, with drought-

like conditions and a cost of living crisis.

I know just how important our dairy sector is to our local economy and our national food security.

I will always stand up as a strong and effective voice for farming families in Monash.

Importantly, proceeds from the event are reinvested into local community programs, which is a true reflection of the community spirit that defines the Monash electorate.

It is a privilege to support events like this that celebrate and strengthen our local agribusinesses here in Monash.

About FARMap

Designed by former beef and sheep farmer and now entrepreneur Sam Baulch, FARMap was launched in 2021 to fill a gap in the farm management app market.

Understanding the value of quality farming maps and the role they play in successful farm management; Sam saw an opportunity to design and develop his version; a simple, cost-effective option suited to family farming operations, notably in the livestock sector. Further inspired by the rising role technology was playing in agriculture, FARMap quickly went into the development phase in early 2018.

“Quality assurance and accurate mapping is a problem for every farmer, so I wanted to put a cheaper option out there for family owned and operated farms”, Sam explained.

Simplicity and low cost are Sam’s main aims for the app, ensuring even grandparents are comfortable using FARMap.

Customers share how much they appreciate the simplicity of the app plus the personal touch of having 1:1 support rather than through a large agency.

Sam believes FARMap has changed the way people manage their farms by simplifying the process of recording data and generating reports with all information in one easy-toaccess place.

Continually making improvements to the app based on client feedback, ensures FARMap delivers maximum value to our customers into the future.

Sam’s Story

Sam Baulch’s farming career began in the mid-70s when he took over the family commercial beef and sheep operation near Hawkesdale, Victoria.

Successfully running the farm until 2004, Sam’s passion for property mapping saw Sam launch his other agribusiness, Australian Mapping in 2009.

Building strong networks across ag communities around Australia and understanding those challenges farmers face every day, Sam took the next step when he successfully launched FARMap in 2021.

You can find Sam regularly travelling the country with both his Australian Mapping and FARMap businesses; on clients’ properties with his drone, attending Ag Field Days, catching up with farmers, and swapping stories of life on the land.

Now based on the Southwest Coast of Victoria with his wife Lyn, Sam says he is proud to have created a very handy and useful tool for the smaller farming operations and supporting technology newcomers with FARMap at a fraction of the cost of what else is available on the market today.

Clamping down on quality silage

On many farms, grass silage can be a significant component of the animal diet particularly through the summer months.

Yet it can be the one that is the most variable, and these variances can have a huge impact on animal performance.

Fertiliser for the upcoming grass silage harvest will already have been applied at optimum levels, tailored to suit your farm.

A good quality grass silage for milking cows and finishing cattle or sheep should have a metabolisable energy (ME) of 11.5+ MJ/kg DM, a crude protein of more than 14% and a dry matter content of 30 -35%.

The effect of silage quality can be shown by using an example of a cow eating 10 kg of grass silage dry matter (DM) with an ME of 12 versus an ME of 9.

The difference in energy density can be enough for up to 6 extra litres of milk.

For the cow to achieve the same performance, this difference will have to be made up by using extra concentrate grain blends.

In order to gain these benefits of a higher-quality silage, steps need to be taken in all aspects of silage making.

Ground conditions permitting, an early cutting date is key to making quality silage.

After the grass plant has headed out and a seed head is visible, each day that passes, the digestibility (DMD) value will decline by 0.5 units, so aim to cut just before the seed head emerges. Ensure enough time has passed between nitrogen (N) application and cutting dates. When N is not completely used up in the standing silage crop, excess nitrogen impacts on ensilabililty which may result in a poorer fermentation with dark, unpalatable and unstable silage at feed-out.

Cut silage swards to target increased dry matter and sugar content of the crop.

Better sugar content will improve preservation and subsequent feed out quality.

The opposite of this is wet grass with acidic silage that can be unpalatable.

The use of a silage additive will not compensate for poor silage harvest management or quality but can be used to improve preservation and feed out characteristics.

Effluent running from silage stacks with forage at less than 30% DM is rarely an issue in Australia.

However, grass can also be ensiled too dry which will result in consolidation issues and can lead to secondary fermentation once opened.

Once cut, the grass needs to be ensiled as quickly and cleanly as possible to avoid feed value losses. Chop length should be 1–2cm for 25–40% DM crops.

Regarding pit preparation and management; old, mouldy and rotten silage should already be removed from the clamp area.

To ensure quality, clamps need to be filled as quickly as possible, and the area should be clean to reduce/minimise soil contamination. Even fill and regular rolling is a must.

However, avoid rolling the next morning before filling/sealing if a pit has been left overnight, as this will draw air in.

The stack needs to be well covered and sealed as soon as compaction is complete. Take care that the sheeting is not punctured.

These small steps should help improve silage quality and have a positive impact on feed costs and animal performance.

For many, silage season is the best time of year, but due care and attention is needed to keep everyone involved safe, healthy and ready to go again for the upcoming feeding period.

A legacy of quality built for generations

No one builds sheds like Bairnsdale Engineering. For three generations, our family-owned business has helped farming families create more than structures - we’ve helped them build futures.

Since 1976, we’ve been focused on delivering top-quality farm sheds to Australian farmers: sheds built the way they should be.

This legacy of quality is unmatched in the farm shed industry and we continue to evolve alongside the ever-changing agricultural landscape.

From the first conversation, through permit approvals, to the last weld, our team is committed to making your shed project straightforward, stress-free, and built to last.

We pride ourselves on building a product we’d be proud to own ourselves.

Don’t settle for second best, our team is ready to help you achieve your vision today.

No two farms are the same and while many assume a custom shed means higher costs, the reality is often the opposite.

As one of our dairy clients, Callum Moscript, puts it:

“Any major investment is something you don’t make lightly.

But if you’re making long-term decisions based only on price, you’re sacrificing quality and that’s a dangerous thing.”

A well-designed, purpose-built shed can save you money over time.

When your shed fits your operation perfectly, you avoid costly workarounds, prevent downtime, and invest in infrastructure that works as hard as you do.

Projects like the Moscript Family’s rotary dairy shed and calving barn prove what’s possible.

Their investment delivered smoother workflows, healthier cattle, and infrastructure that could handle herd expansion.

At Bairnsdale Engineering, we understand farming isn’t just business, it’s family and tradition.

Don’t just take our word for it. Scan the QR code to explore real farm case studies, hear from fellow farmers, and discover why Bairnsdale sheds are truly built for generations.

Jantec Systems, Australia’s leading supplier of electronic ID systems

Many farmers underestimate the importance of the accuracy of the electronic ID system in rotary and herringbone dairies.

In rotary dairies the Jantec ID system is unique in that it exceeds the accuracy of its nearest competitors by magnitudes.

This is very important for feeding and other cow-in-bail dependent functions, like milk metering, and pregnancy testing.

As an example, if the ID system is not accurate there is no point putting in milk meters, otherwise the animal will be assigned the wrong volume.

As well as being accurate, the Jantec ID system is by far the most cost-effective system available and includes easy to use herd

management software that is continuously being enhanced.

All of Jantec’s ID systems use NLIS ear tags.

On rotary and herringbone dairies the animals are identified as they enter the platform and the operator is alerted via voice message and coloured text on a computer screen to such markers as calvings, matings, pregnancy tests, treatments, and groups.

Feed is controlled to each animal according to the schedule set.

Jantec Systems has integrated with various inline sensors such as milk meters which can measure volume, fat, protein, lactose, conductivity, and milking rates, and cell count meters which measure the SCC.

Electronic Herd Identification

From the data collected, the powerful reports generated are extremely useful for management decision-making.

It allows farmers to make more informed, faster, and effective decisions, and allows for continuous herd improvement.

The company’s electronic herd identification system can integrate with many heat detection systems, saving time on observations and lifting fertility rates.

The Jantec phone app displays animal information and allows for alerts, events, and drafts to be entered, as well as featuring other unique options.

Jantec Systems will be on site at the South Gippsland Dairy Expo.

Importance of soil nutrients

Your land and soil are the most valuable asset on your farm other than yourself and your family.

Soil nutrients can decline over time and lead to pasture deterioration, lower stocking rates and lower profitability, the establishment of newer pasture varieties combined with strategic fertiliser applications will lead to a more profitable and sustainable farming enterprise.

Nutrients can be depleted from your farm by leaching of nutrients to lower levels in the soil profile, dissolved and carried off the farm by water runoff, sold off the farm within farm produce or become temporally unavailable with natural nutrient cycles in the soil.

Therefore, the major nutrients being nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur and calcium need to be topped up annually to maintain soil fertility.

Fertilisers can be combined into a complete fertiliser blends to suit the soil on your farm. Fertilisers can be delivered in storage bins up to 8 ton capacity, in bulk truckloads or

spread with either tractor or 4-wheel drive trucks.

Lime products are also available to increase calcium and lift soil pH. Lime & Gypsum are normally delivered and spread on farm during the summer months when paddocks are accessible.

Agronomy and sales staff can provide advice of various products, can prepare fertiliser / nutrient plans and advice to dairy, sheep, beef and horticulture producers.

If you require an on-farm visit to discuss your fertiliser requirements or soil samples taken to determine soil nutrient levels followed by detailed recommendations, give one of the Agronomy team a call.

Come and see our friendly Browns fertiliser team at the South Gippsland Dairy Expo site number near the main gate to complete your “Udder truth quiz question”.

Gippsland farmer avoiding mud and saving feed with new shelters

Kevin and his wife Helen have been farming at Foster in South Gippsland since 2002, now along with their son Mitchell, and needed to find ways to cope with their 1200mm annual rainfall.

“We get that wet and muddy here even the ducks leave,” Kevin jokes.

While regular rainfall is handy, the resulting mud and damaged paddocks in winter have been a hindrance.

A five-span clear-roofed, deep litter shelter from Dairy Shelters Australia is helping to solve the dilemma.

The farm has been on a huge growth curve over the past two decades and has expanded to 725 acres and up to 892 cows last year.

Their Cypress Grove Holsteins is a registered stud. The Jones family now runs two herds because they don’t all fit in the cow yard or the feed pad, with top cows and average cows in each herd divided along age lines.

Kevin is as much looking after their welfare as his paddocks with the introduction of the shelters this year and a feed pad five years ago.

“The shelters are the add-on to the feed pad,” he said. “The feed pad is good, but we still had to let cows go to the paddocks after we fed them. We found they would walk 10 metres wide all the way up the paddock; 200 cows do enough damage let alone 800.”

“With the feed pad we increased milk solids per cow from around 580-600 kg/Ms and this year we went over 700. I hope the extra benefit we get from the shelter with them saving energy from less walking and being warmer will lead to another increase in production on top of that.”

“We grow a lot of grass but we get so wet in winter, we couldn’t put tractors on the paddocks and you waste a lot of feed.”

The shelters have been installed to use over winter, allowing the cows protection after using the feed pad.

Kevin investigated the option of a solid barn but found the clear-roofed shelter could achieve his goals at a tenth of the price. The shelters will help the farm to rebound after a tough year. “We always carry a year’s silage ahead of us.

Now it’s gone but we’ll build up and having the shelters will help us to prepare the farm with as much fodder as we can for the next season,” said Kevin.

Kevin Jones has helped to protect his paddocks and improve the efficiency of his Foster farm with the addition of a Dairy Shelters Australia five-span shelter.

The shelters were finished in July and have already been successfully used for calving cows.

Kevin has built a five-span shelter, two for each herd and one for calving.

The farm recently hosted an open day that attracted strong interest. “Everyone inside

commented how it was warmer when the rain stopped and the sun came out,” Kevin said. For more information: https://dairyshelters australia.com.au/, https://www.facebook. com/dairysheltersaustralia/

Unlock the full potential of your pastures with DNA

At this year’s South Gippsland Dairy & Farming Expo, GreenMate Agriculture is putting science back into the soil — and into the hands of local dairy farmers. With tight margins and productivity more critical than ever, understanding your soil’s biology isn’t a luxury — it’s a game-changer.

GreenMate’s advanced DNA Soil Function Test goes far beyond traditional soil testing, revealing the exact microbial profile driving (or limiting) your pasture’s performance.

By uncovering this hidden biology, we help identify nutrient inefficiencies, biological imbalances, and limiting factors — and provide a clear, tailored action plan. For dairy operations, this means:

Soil Testing

• Healthier, more resilient pastures

• Improved nutrient cycling and soil structure

• Better feed quality and increased yields

• Long-term sustainability — without the guesswork

No two farms are the same. That’s why every GreenMate report includes expert agronomist recommendations, specific to your property and goals. Whether you’re dealing with compaction,

declining output, or planning for long-term improvement, our DNA test delivers the insight you need to make smarter, more effective decisions. Visit the GreenMate team at the Expo, or online at www.greenmate.com.au, to learn more — and as a bonus, any DNA soil test booked during the Expo will receive a complimentary soil report with full soil analysis and tailored recommendations.

The power of good advice in dairy farming

In the ever-evolving landscape of dairy farming, good advice is not just helpful—it’s essential.

With rising input costs, climate variability, and shifting market demands, farmers face complex challenges that require informed decisions.

This is where expert guidance can make all the difference.

Whether it’s advice on pasture management, herd health, feed efficiency, or financial planning, tapping into the knowledge of experienced advisors can lead to measurable improvements in productivity and profitability.

For example, a nutritionist’s input might boost milk yield while reducing feed waste, and a vet’s early intervention could prevent costly disease outbreaks.

But good advice isn’t only about technical expertise—it’s also about trust and collaboration.

Advisors who understand the unique goals and constraints of a farm can tailor solutions that are both practical and sustainable. Peer networks, local extension services, and industry consultants all play a role in sharing insights that help farmers adapt and thrive. Importantly, seeking advice is a sign of strength, not weakness.

It reflects a commitment to continuous improvement and resilience in the face of uncertainty.

In a sector where margins are tight and risks are high, the right guidance can be the difference between surviving and succeeding.

Dairy farmers who invest in good advice are investing in their future. It’s a smart move—one that pays dividends in efficiency, sustainability, and peace of mind. They’re the future of farming and the type of farmers we are passionate about working with. •

Saliva is LIQUID GOLD, and it’s free

When calves suckle in the slow, controlled way they do from a cow, it stimulates the production of vital saliva.

Immune support

Saliva is rich in lactoferrin and lactoperoxidase, enzyme systems with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties that boost the immunity of the calf.

Improved digestibility

Saliva balances the pH in the abomasum, creating an optimal environment for curding.

Saliva is alkaline (pH8.2), milk is almost neutral (pH6.7), before feeding, the abomasum is acidic (pH2).

As the calf suckles, milk and saliva form an alkaline mixture which reacts to acid in the abomasum and creates a creamy curd.

Without sufficient saliva, curd formation in the abomasum is inhibited. Raw milk enters the intestines providing a nutrient source for bacteria to feed on and multiply, causing nutritional scours.

Cross-sucking impacts future production capabilities

For survival, calves are ‘wired’ to suckle for a time period. This is called the Suckling Instinct.

The gut and brain work together, and after some time spent suckling, neurological feedback tells the calf to stop suckling.

When a calf drinks her milk too quickly, this communication fails.

The milk is finished but the brain is telling her to keep suckling. She suckles on other calves until the suckling urge switch’s off.

Milk Bar™ Teats activate the suckling action required for proper saliva production.

The controlled flow satisfies the suckling instinct to protect calves from cross suckling damage.

New Titan Max series of McIntosh wagons... keeping ahead of the pack

After listening to the needs of customers over the past 18 months, the new Titan Max series of silage wagons have been designed and built for the serious farmer.

The new wagons feature the all-new heavy duty 16mm hi-tensile floor and elevator chains.

These features make them even stronger than the renowned Titan series of silage wagons that many Gippsland farmers know and trust.

McIntosh has increased the strength of the bin by using 5mm Bisoly high wearing steel for both the floor and side wear plates.

Other new features include new style tapered mud guards, remote grease lines for easier access to main grease points, an even heavy-duty floor drive system and galvanised cross conveyer frame.

These features see the new Titan Max series of silage wagons offering even greater strength, performance and durability for years to come.

One great new feature of the Titan Max wagons is the new automatic floor chain adjustment system.

Like with all wagons, the floor chains will stretch over time, but the Titan Max series of wagons are fitted with a unique grease pump system that maintains constant pressure on the floor chains to keep them at the correct tension.

This automatically maintains the proper floor chain tension and will save a lot of maintenance time and potential breakdowns from wrongly adjusted floor chains.

Allan Slater from TracMac Farm Equip

ment said, “the new Titan Max series of silage wagons offer significant strength and features over and above all other wagons on the market and are well suited to the needs of many farmers across Australia.”

McIntosh also offers a range of beater style silage wagons.

These wagons are specially designed to help integrate different product together and feed them out in a consistent and even manner. Ideal for use in feed pad operations, they offer a lot of versatility, ease of operation and much lower operating cost then an alternative

The McIntosh Titan Max series of silage wagons are built for the serious farmer, and for high use applications.

Be prepared for harvest season

With harvest season fast approaching, it’s time to prepare your machinery before the rush begins. TTMI Trafalgar’s Service Manager, Hayden Mumford, shares this timely advice: “Take the time it takes — because it takes less time.”

A bit of pre-season preparation can save hours — or days — of costly downtime. Use any poor-weather days in the lead-up to harvest as an opportunity to walk around your equipment and inspect for issues that may have been parked along with the machines after their last use.

After sitting idle over winter, machinery can often become home to rodents. Rats and mice are notorious for chewing through electrical wiring and hoses, so it’s critical to check for damage and remove any nesting material.

Look over all protective covers — especially on PTOs, mowers, and other implements — and ensure they’re securely in place.

Power-driven components such as belts, bearings, chains, and gears should be inspected, lubricated, and serviced.

Don’t forget to check belt and chain tension, and on disc mowers, replace worn knives or turtles as needed.

Conditioning rollers are often overlooked, yet vital. Look for signs of uneven wear and take time to set roll gap, timing, and pressure to suit your crop.

Safety is just as important as productivity. Make sure you’ve got a functioning fire extinguisher and a stocked first aid kit on hand.

Lights and reflectors on your machinery should be cleaned and tested so that

you’re ready for road travel and visible at night.

Another smart step is ensuring you have essential replacement parts and consumables ready to go — items like net wrap, silage film, shear pins, and spare tines for tedders, rakes and balers.

TTMI’s parts department is well-stocked to help you stay in the paddock this Spring.

Even for those who prefer to handle their own maintenance, TTMI offers a comprehensive 30-point baler inspection and expert workshop and field service — with after-hours support available throughout the busy season.

Harvest can mean long days that stretch into even longer nights. Fatigue is real — rest when you can and check in on your mates.

Safety isn’t just about machinery — it’s about looking after each other.

When harvest winds down, take a final pass over your machines. Replace filters and seals, relax belt tensioners, and store equipment under cover to prevent rust.

It’s tempting to back everything into the shed and call it done — but a final inspection and some preventative maintenance can be time well spent.

And finally, as tractors and implements become a more common sight on Gippsland roads, let’s all remember to share the road with patience.

If you find yourself stuck behind slow -moving machinery, take a moment to enjoy our beautiful countryside.

From all of us at TTMI, we wish you a safe, productive, and successful harvest season. For sales, service, or spare parts, visit ttmi. com.au or call (03) 5633 1588.

One of the world’s leading bovine reproductive technology providers, Trans Ova Genetics, has officially launched operations in Australia through a partnership with Total Livestock Genetics (TLG) in Camperdown, Victoria.

This marks the first time Australian cattle producers will have direct access to Trans Ova’s advanced IVF services, which have helped reshape genetic progress and reproductive efficiency across the U.S. livestock industry.

With Australia ranking among the top three global beef producers and in the top ten for dairy, Trans Ova sees strong alignment with the country’s progressive approach to herd improvement.

“Australia presents an exciting opportunity for growth,” said Katie Jauert Jess, Chief Operating Officer at Trans Ova Genetics. “There’s already an appetite here for advanced reproductive technologies, and we’re pleased to bring proven IVF solutions closer to producers.”

Since early 2025, Trans Ova has been working closely with the TLG team to establish systems, protocols, and training aligned with its global standards.

Several members of the TLG team have undergone extensive hands-on training in the U.S., and the Camperdown-based lab has now passed all quality control checks. It is actively producing IVF embryos for clients commercially.

Genetics Australia has also partnered in supporting the technology’s rollout. “In our business, we aim to do what’s best for our clients.

The Trans Ova team shares that mindset,” said Anthony Shelly, CEO of Genetics Australia.

“Their IVF program is one of the most respected in the world, and this partnership will deliver real value to our Australian clients”.

Trans Ova’s long-term vision includes further expansion across Australia, supported by its established model of regional centres, satellite locations, and on-farm services.

The introduction of its IVF services represents a practical step forward for Australian livestock enterprises looking to accelerate genetic gain, improve efficiency, and remain globally competitive.

Mounted sprayers with big features

AMAZONE has introduced a number of ‘high spec’ features, including active boom guidance, quad nozzle pods and an integrated hydraulic pump, into its popular range of UF 02 series of mounted sprayers.

Available in tank capacities of either 1,000 or 2,000 litres and boom widths from 12 to 30 metres, the UF 1602 and UF 2002 sprayers are notable for their compact design and simple operation.

The addition of a front tank can boost capacity to 3,500 litres.

CLAAS Harvest Centre Product Business Manager – AMAZONE, Murray Tuck, says the upgrades mean the UF series now deliver the same performance, convenience as the company’s range of UX trailed sprayers.

The ContourControl boom guidance system, available on wider booms wider than 27 metres, provides fast and precise boom guidance for optimal application and performance.

The title angle of each boom is controlled by a pre-pressurised hydraulic cylinder equipped with a rapidly-switching valve.

The cylinders for the tilt angle of the two outer ends of the boom are controlled using the same principle.

“This system helps to keep each boom parallel to the ground, reducing any effects caused by uneven terrain or high operating speed,” Steve says.

“Besides preventing contact with the ground, this helps to maintain an optimal distance of about 50 cm between the boom and the target surface, ensuring optimal

coverage and reducing the potential for spray drift.

“In addition, UF 02 booms can now fitted with AmaSwitch quad nozzle bodies on 25 cm spacings, which allows the operator to select the right nozzle according to spraying conditions.”

The boom has independently-controlled hydraulics at each pivot point.

“This means each section can be folded independently, allowing the operating width to be adjusted,” Blair says.

The UF 1602 and UF 2002 mounted sprayers are now available with a fully-integrated 300 L/min hydraulic pump.

“Pump speed is completely independent of the tractor’s engine speed, which is particularly useful when applying crop protection agents in hilly terrain, where the tractor’s engine and PTO speed is constantly changing,” Steve says. Contact the team at Claas Harvest Centre Gippsland and South Gippsland for further details. Travis Macumber – 0428137497, Eric Davis – 0488344555 and John Main –0419465086.

ContourControl helps to maintain a constant 50 cm distance between the nozzles and the target surface, regardless of terrain.
