Warm Nordic represents world famous Danish and Scandinavian designers from the mid-century modern design era. This era from the 40’s to the 70’s is widely regarded as the most important period and the Golden Age of Design. Among the old masters are the famous architect Hans Olsen – an iconic representative of this period and known as the master of curves in modern furniture design.
Warm Nordic is a response to the perception of Nordic design as something cool. Sure, in Scandinavia it’s cold outside, but inside you find warmth and danish hygge. Fire in the fireplace, a warm ambience from exceptional lighting and remarkable upholstered furniture pieces. The design pieces from Warm Nordic offer an all-embracing, playful and welcoming idiom. A timeless selection. The design pieces’ presence are immediately sensed – adding both cultural depth and a subtle sense of everyday joy to the space. The design pieces are responsibly created to last for generations and are crafted from beautiful, high-quality materials like genuine teak, walnut and oak, as well as opal glass, wool, natural rattan, and solid brass. They come in outstanding colors and upholstery - most recently curated by internationally acclaimed architect Alfredo Häberli.
The hallmark of Warm Nordic is a celebration of Danish designers. The design pieces unfold an unpretentious play with beautiful and welcoming functionality and curves, personal and relaxed look, outstanding materials and colors with deep respect for nature.

The Gesture Chair by ”The Master of Curves” Hans Olsen is defined by its inviting, one-piece construction — a striking and ergonomic expression of his deep fascination with this unique production method. As a tribute to the joyful use of colour in the 1950s, the chair is available in a variety of natural wood types as well as in a curated palette of beautiful hues, selected by acclaimed designer Alfredo Häberli.
Hans Olsen’s distinctive designs were often selected for iconic modernist homes by leading American architects, including Richard Neutras office in Palm Springs, California. Hans Olsen’s elegantly curved designs also captivated figures from the fashion world — among them, Karl Lagerfeld, who especially admired Olsen’s refined aesthetic.
The Fried Egg by Hans Olsen has its roots in Danish Modernism and is crafted for design lovers who want to infuse their home with bold, distinctive pieces of furniture full of character. The chair has a flat and elegant armrest, which invites you to throw your legs over the side of the chair.
At the Danish Museum of National History, a stunning portrait of the Queen of Denmark is on display. Unveiled in 2022 by Her Majesty to mark her 50-year anniversary, the iconic painting depicts Her Majesty seated gracefully in Hans Olsen’s renowned Fried Egg chair.
Spin the Bird — a charming twist on a classic game
The Danish furniture designer, Jacob Hermann, who saw the potential in even the smallest pieces of wood, created the Twirling Birds in 1958 with a mixture of artistic sensibility and great empathy. The first of many birds were originally created out of the bits of wood and even roots, which he found on the beach at Skagen in Northern Denmark. Each of the beautifully rotating birds has its own character, determined by the grain and colour of the wood. Let the Twirling Birds settle everyday decisions with charm and ease — from who empties the dishwasher to who picks tonight’s family film. No need for quarrels — the birds have the answer.
With timeless Nordic design as a foundation, Warm Nordic is founded on a responsible way of thinking about furniture that is passed down from generation to generation. From mid-century design classics from the 40s until the 70s to new long-lasting designs of the highest quality. Created with equal respect for the past and for the future.
Lean Back was created by the renowned Danish furniture designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen in the 1950s and its design is based on the principles of Modernism. The lounge chair is elegant and reclining in the most refined and artful way. Despite the lightness and an almost floating expression, the lounge chair is incredibly comfortable to sit in and invites you to stay for long conversations. As a special quality in the design, the Lean Back lounge chair is beautiful from all angles, so it can stand freely in the room.
Warm Nordic creates spaces that feel balanced, authentic, and full of character. Experience a world of inspiration, where interior styling, natural materials, responsibility, and timeless aesthetic design come together. Every piece reflects a deep respect for craftsmanship and the beauty of thoughtful design, which creates a universe where responsibility meets beauty, and design transcends trends. The Swing Rocking Chair by Hans Olsen and the Fringe lighting series by Swedish lighting master HansAgne Jakobsson are a testament to exactly this. Through their thoughtful, gentle and graceful appearance, both pieces make a statement of timeless design.
The Dwell series is an exquisite selection featuring an elegant sofa and a timeless lounge chair, boasting a distinctive 50s design. Crafted by the visionary Hans Olsen in 1956, this series has been meticulously chosen for Warm Nordic as a tribute to iconic Nordic design from the period of mid-century modern. Immerse yourself in the timeless charm of the Pragh Chair – a masterpiece crafted in the 1940s by Danish designer Henry Hans Schubell. Made from premium materials, the Pragh Chair is built to last for many generations, making it perfect for those who appreciate classic Scandinavian design qualities and superior craftsmanship.
The Beak Birds are unique and are created in individual pieces of oak of the highest quality. The four personalities in the Beak Bird family embrace a wide range, from rank and curious to a more solid and thoughtful nature. The Beak Birds from 1961 were discovered in the attic of Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen’s family home. They have become a part of his design legacy and now, thanks to an agreement with his descendants, the wooden birds are ready to captivate the world with their various characters.
The renowned Danish architect Hans Olsen is behind the light and elegant chair The Orange, which was designed in the 1950s. Thanks to its classic expression, The Orange is a chair that complements both modern and more timeless interiors, and will be added effortlessly to existing furniture in the home. The Orange chair from Hans Olsen’s hand is one of the earliest known shell chairs and has been nicknamed the Orange because of its characteristic back and seat, reminiscent of orange peels. With reference to the era’s color experiments and the architect’s own playful attitude to design, the upholstered shell chair is also available in a two-tone variant.
The Warm Nordic lighting selection is crafted to do more than simply illuminate — it creates atmosphere. Through timeless design and quality craftsmanship, each piece casts a warm, inviting glow that enriches any space. Opal Pure and Opal Shade are timeless pendant lamps, originally designed by Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen in 1959. The opal glass offers a unique light diffusion, creating a soft, warm glow with a distinct character. The Opal Shade enhances this effect further by combining the opal glass with a wide metal shade, resulting in a striking and refined interplay of light and form.

The iconic Surfboard coffee table was originally designed in 1959 by Danish furniture designer Arne HovmandOlsen, who became known for his innovative and Scandinavian furniture design. The table top’s design is inspired by the shape of a surfboard and gives the coffee table an inherent lightness and a very special beauty that makes it slide effortlessly into a modern interior. Surfboard is distinguished by its high quality and a design that testifies to the designer’s love of wood.
Danish designer Knud Færch saw chairs as more than furniture — they were sculptures that defined a space. Working with known Danish designers such as Finn Juhl, Færch had the same talent for creating beautiful organic forms. His mission was to blend timeless design with exceptional comfort, a vision brought to life in the Cow Horn dining chair. This 1960s masterpiece showcases elegant curves and seamless wood joinery, reflecting Færch’s dedication to craftsmanship. More than just a chair, it shapes its surroundings — an enduring icon of Danish Modernism.
The Milieu series was originally designed in 1975 by the renowned Danish lighting designer Jo Hammerborg, who was behind a large number of original lamps that have gained status over time — several based on soft organic lines. Milieu Color Mini Mini is designed in metal and is available in several beautiful color variants. The design is inspired by Hammerborg’s great passion for flying and skydiving. The individual layers unfold beautifully like a parachute, and the pendant possesses distinctive harmony, making it a true design classic.
Through collaboration with a few carefully curated contemporary designers, Warm Nordic has crafted a distinctive collection of designs complementing the Classic Collection. The Contemporary collection pays tribute to the same ideals of function and form inherited from the period of mid-century modern, and features exclusive shapes, colors, and expressions with clear references to the Danish design heritage. Among the contemporary designs are the Cape series, designed by Charlotte Høncke in 2017. Cape is inspired by layer-on-layer design and in its simple yet rich design, the Cape hides a detailed aesthetic and inherent sensuality.
