The 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. is seen, and known as a Power in the African American community, and the wider society. The 100 was started as a result of an incident in which a member of our community was discriminated against in New York City.
A conversation was held and an idea was born; perhaps if an organization of Black Men was formed this community of men could prevent incidents such as this in the future.
The 100 Black Men group was initially formed in N.Y.C. Today the organization is comprised of approximately 110 Chapters which includes international chapters. Our world headquarters of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. is the first new chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. established in Downstate, New York since the 1970's and this is of an historic magnitude, and significance. Essential to the success of the organization is the practice of building rapport in the community through the use of networking; and we have documented evidence of the viability of this approach over the years.
The 100 believes in giving 100 percent its effort to its mission, and the causes upon which it embarks upon in the community. Black Men coming together under structure in an organization such as 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. will lead to significant outcomes in its programmatic mission which includes mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment.
The goal of 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. is to be premiere mentoring organization in our community through our Four Four The Future programs listed above and to achieve lasting impact, and change the narrative by fulfilling our unique and special mission.
