NOTES:

GAME FOR TWO for two pianos I. The Encounter

This is a four-hands movement. Both pianists play on Piano I. In this movement, Pianist 1 plays the Primo part until the end of Section E, when the two pianists will switch, therefore, starting at section F, Pianist 1 will play secondo while Pianist 2 will play Primo.

Allegretto, non troppo q = ca. 104

Reluctantly lets Pianist 2 share the bench.

Slowly wonders on stage, hears a few repeats and begin mimicking, standing.

Pianist 2 now invites Pianist 1 to the Secondo position. Pianist 1 refuses. Pianist 2 lifts and manually moves Pianist 1 to Secondo, then resume playing.

Pianist 2 now walks to the curve side of Piano

II. The Dance

NOTES:

In this movement, Pianist I performs normally at Piano 1. Pianist II performs inside Piano 1 on the curve side. Pianist II will finger mute the notated strings as indicated by the diamond-head notes, therefore, creating a wood-like effect. In places such as Measure 103, pianist II plucks inside the piano with a Medium hard guitar pick as instructed.

Allegro, con jubiloso q = ca. 112

III. The Confrontation

NOTES: This is a two-piano movement. Pianist 1 performs on Piano I, while Pianist 2 performs on Piano II.
