Member Maintenance & Etiquette As a new golfing season draws near, I would like to recognize Madison and our entire Golf Course Maintenance team for the tremendous work they have put into improving the condition of our golf course. The progress we have seen is a direct result of their hard work and continued commitment to providing the best playing conditions possible. As Madison and his team continue to build on that progress, we need your help. Great course conditions are a shared responsibility, and the small things each of us does during a round can make a significant difference for the golfers who follow behind us. Please help us protect the course and maintain the improvements that have been made by following these course care best practices: Course Care Guidlines 1. Repair ball marks and pick up your feet. Unrepaired or poorly fixed ball marks create uneven putting surfaces and unsightly blemishes. Use a divot repair tool to fix your mark—and one more—on every green. Video: How to Fix Your Ball Mark 2. Fill divots with sand. Always fill your divots to keep fairways smooth and promote healthy turf regrowth. Please also avoid taking divots during practice swings. Video: How to Repair Divots 3. Rake bunkers. Please smooth out footprints and sand disturbances after your shot to ensure fair conditions for other players. Video: How to Properly Rake a Bunker 4. Maintain proper range divot patterns. When practicing, create divots in a straight line, placing each ball directly behind the previous divot. This allows our Bermuda grass to heal more efficiently and allows for better conditions for those who hit after you. Video: Practice Area Care 5. Pick up broken tees. Leaving broken tees behind not only detracts from appearance but can damage mower blades. Remove your tees and pick up any others you see. Broken Tee Boxes are located on the Blue and Green tees of all par 3s for your convenience. 6. Follow proper cart traffic rules. Carts must return to the path near tee boxes and within 15 yards of the green. Our carts include software that will automatically slow the cart to 2 MPH in these restricted areas. These actions take only a few moments during a round, but collectively they have a tremendous impact. Thank you for taking pride in our golf course, respecting the work of our maintenance team, and helping leave the course in great condition for the players who follow you. Very Best Regards, Neely Robertson, PGA
