On this endless road, you suddenly walk without feet, no road ahead, taken by an unknown, strong wind letting you down in the middle of nowhere. That is where I want to go, to meet with the unknown.

arit Geraldine’s dynamic career continues to gain momentum. In May 2022, one of her works could be seen all over London. Her painting was chosen as the "Face of" The Affordable Artfair UK.
In other words this Norwegian abstract artist fronted all marketing material for the well renowned British art fair, evident in London's cityscape and art industry. There were interviews, great attention, and a sold-out stand at her London gallery, Mint Art. Today, Marit Geraldine works with a growing number of galleries abroad, in London, New York and Dubai, and soon representation in Paris. The artist is also represented at Madelyn Jordon Gallery in New York, with whom she started working in 2017.
Marit Geraldine Bostad was recently interviewed by the international art magazine Create Magazine, where she describes her artistic work as a continuous encounter with the Unknown. Her palette or range of colours is not limited until she starts painting, and all the mixing of colours takes place on the canvas itself. She rarely uses a brush but rather other tools that provide expressive and diverse strokes. By removing the unnecessary so that only the essence remains, it is up to the viewer to interpret the work based on their own stories and experiences.

Marit Geraldine Bostad is once again back at Gulden Kunstverk Gallery with a powerful exhibit, “A Meeting With The Unknown”, a collection of fresh paintings that deal with the inner psyche, memories and human relationships. Her artworks are created spontaneously - at the intersection between the conscious and the subconscious. She describes her practice as disconnecting from an externally controlled world. She wants to free herself from the conscious choices in the hope of achieving a new interaction, a new source of inspiration and a redefined artistic expression, through a free expressionistic approach to painting.
Marit Geraldine first exhibit “Hope Island” at Gulden Kunstverk took place in 2020 during the pandemic. It was a time of isolation and distance, little physical contact and great uncertainty in the world. In the middle of this darkened scenario, the artist spread hope in the gallery with her bright and sensuous abstract paintings - her «lockdown» series. But now we are free to come and be inspired together in Norways most beautiful gallery.

The most inspiring moments are when the paint itself find new ways, takes interesting and unexpected turns across the canvas. At those moments I need to use my intuition, to either follow or reroute. I don´t listen to music when I work, I use silence as a mentor - to enable me to hear my own voice. I am constantly in a dialogue with my material, it is all about give and take.”
