But did you know it is your responsibility as a tenant to know your rights and responsibilities prior to signing a lease agreement? By knowing the terms of the rental contract ahead of time, you will be well informed and able to determine if the location is the right one for you. Once you choose your location, a landlord should give you adequate written notice when rent or landlord services have been adjusted, and you should be able to discuss any clarifications or adjustments before a new lease is signed. Many landlords and property management companies do their jobs well and care about the property they own as well as the people who live there. It is in their best interest to keep good tenants. Many go above and beyond. Do you know a terrific landlord or property management team? What makes him or her so great? Let us know. We’d love to hear from you!

Once you have your movers selected, you can start to pack up your belongings in anticipation of their arrival.
