FIRST-TIME BUYERS EXCITED ABOUT PURCHASING

AT FRESH TOWNS

Uptowns Collection at Fresh Towns.

First-time buyers Alison and Mackenzie.

Alison and Mackenzie are currently renting a condominium in Greatwise Developments’ Qualicum Woods Crossing in Ottawa’s west end and are well placed to watch construction progress at Fresh Towns, where they’ve made their first home purchase. Now in its final phase of contemporary townhomes, Fresh Finale was recently released and 60 per cent sold in just 10 days! “Watching the construction progress will give us something to look forward to as we come home from work,” says Mackenzie. Mackenzie moved to Ottawa to attend Carleton University and earned his degree in aerospace engineering, an industry in which he is now employed about five minutes from the Fresh Towns’ location. Alison is a teacher who travels a bit further to work, but is delighted with the central location of their current and soon-to-be new home. Both enjoy living close to the Gatineau Hills where they 16  NextHome+CondoGuide  |  Nov. 10–24, 2018

can hike, ski and snowboard. “The area also has great restaurants and a lot of food festivals,” Mackenzie adds. Ottawa-native Alison grew up in Hunt Club, “in a peaceful neighbourhood much like this one,” she says. The Qualicum neighbourhood “is still close to downtown, transit and amenities. It’s difficult to find new builds within the Ottawa city limits, so we think it’s amazing that Greatwise is developing this site.” Mackenzie was also keen on purchasing a new home. “We didn’t want to deal with old issues in a resale home. This way, we have no worries about renovating or poor wiring.” He also says it financially made sense for them to buy. “We’ve been renting for a few years but are now in a good financial place without very many

expenses. It’s a great time for us to start earning equity and set ourselves up for the future.” Alison and Mackenzie purchased the 1,283 sq.-ft. Byward townhome. “This is a great size for us,” Alison says. They love their two-bedroom townhome’s open-concept layout, and they’re “thrilled to have a generous rooftop terrace,” Mackenzie says. Choices at Fresh Towns include five collections: Rooftop Towns, Contemporary Towns, Uptowns, City Towns and Urban Towns. Designs range from 1,081 to 1,807 sq. ft. Prices start from the mid$300,000s to the mid-$500,000s. The established surroundings are home to schools, the Bayshore Shopping Centre, restaurants, parks, greenspaces, entertainment venues and the Nepean Sailing Club.

Located at 2795 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, the Fresh Presentation Studio is open Mon.-Thurs. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., weekends 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., closed Friday. Visit FreshTowns.ca or call 613.693.0808.
