Canadian Home Builders’ Association - Alberta The Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Alberta (CHBA – Alberta) is pleased to present this special publication saluting the finalists and winners of the 2013 CHBA - Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing. A record-breaking 412 entries were submitted by builders and renovators vying for recognition as the best in Alberta. Strong submissions were also received from companies competing for Safety Leadership Awards. The quantity and quality of entries submitted for the awards program are evidence that our members take tremendous pride in their work. A cost-review committee checked submissions before our 137 hard-working judges took up the challenge of choosing the winners from such a strong field of competitors. New this year is an expanded Builder of Year Award program. Instead of a single award, CHBA – Alberta will present Builder of the Year Awards in three categories: small-volume, large-volume and multi-family. Additional awards have been added in the categories of single-family, multi-family and home renovations. A new award in the community development category will also be presented. CHBA – Alberta is proud to celebrate the winners of the 2013 CHBA - Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing. Their exciting designs and innovative layouts demonstrate our industry’s commitment to providing Albertans with attractive homes in a wide range of styles and price points. The big winners are consumers who are certain to find a home that suits them just right in the parade of quality homes built by our members.

Builder of the Year Award The Ralph Scurfield Builder of the Year Award is named for the late industry pioneer who founded Nu-West Homes and went on to become one of Calgary and Alberta’s leading citizens and entrepreneurs. The award is sponsored by RBC Royal Bank and presented to a large volume builder.
