Welcome to the 2025 Walking 5 Ranch bull offering. 2024 has been the best year in the beef industry to date and things are only looking up for 2025. Most of us are waiting to get some snow, but hopeful that it doesn’t come during calving season. The cattleman is poised to be in the driver’s seat for several years, and it is a great time to own the factory!
With the current costs of inputs, it has never been more important to have functional, efficient cows that do not require any extra help. Take advantage of the current markets to build a set of cows designed to keep costs low while still being able to hit premiums when the calves are marketed in the fall. For those that are not familiar with our program our cows earn a living the hard way. We are harder on our cows than most and there is a difference.
This year we have partnered with Frontier Live Sale to provide videos and online bidding on sale day. The format will be very much the same. Please reach out to us with questions. This will offer greater flexibility in case of poor weather or other events that won’t allow you to attend on sale day. As always, the bulls that don’t sell on the sale day will be available private treaty, on a first come first served basis.

SALE FORMAT
The sale will be an online sale. At 2 pm on January 16th, the lots will start closing in order. Each lot will be given a minimum of 15 seconds and will continue until there is no competitive bidding. You can also place a proxy bid online, indicating the maximum you would pay for the bull. No person, including us, will know what that number is. When that lot comes up, if there is competitive bidding, the computer will bid for you up to that amount. Just know that nothing beats a proxy bid – your bid WILL be first!
TERMS
All cattle sell under the Suggested Terms and Conditions of the American Simmental Association.
EPDS
The EPDs listed are current as of 11/30/2024. Please note the EPDs may change from the time the catalog is printed until registration papers are transferred.
The bulls selling have geonomically enhanced epds.
SEMEN CHECK
All bulls sell guaranteed to pass a Breeding Soundness Evaluation, but it has not been performed yet. Bulls will be tested in mid March to get past the coldest weather and closer to breeding season for most people. If you buy a bull and need to have them checked sooner than that for an earlier pick-up, please let us know, and we will make accomodations.

DIRECTIONS
From MT HWY 3 head West on Granary Road for 3 miles, Turn left onto Custer Gulch Road, after 1 mile turn left into the yard.
RETAINED SEMEN INTEREST
Buyers recieve 100% of salvage value and 100% semen revenue, unless otherwise noted. We reserve the right to 200 units of semen for our own use and collected at our expense and buyers convienence.
BREEDING GUARANTEE
All bulls selling are guarenteed for the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined by the first 90 days following turnout. A replacement of equal quality will be provided if available or credit equal to purchase price minus salvage value will be given. An inspection by a veterinarian will be necessary before credit is given.
WINTERING & DELIVERY
We will feed and develop the bulls free of charge until the first of May, at which time we will begin delivering. Until the buyer takes possesion, Walking 5 Ranch assumes the risk of the bulls. If something should happen to a bull while under our care, buyer will recieve a replacement or money back.
If you need your bull before May please let us know so we can make arrangements. Delivery will be free in the state of Montana and northern Wyoming.
