By Wade Thibodeaux Several celebrations of the Nation’s Birthday were reported in Walker County over the holiday weekend. Many more were held, but this article will focus on two of the celebrations. New Waverly hosted
their annual celebration that supports the 4-H and Volunteer Fire Department with a BarB-Que lunch and then an auction and raffle on Monday, July 4, 2022. The Bar-B-Que was available for dine in at the New Waverly Ele-
mentary Cafeteria or to go and then the auction started promptly at 1:00 pm. with anything from cakes to trips available. Those events were followed by a parade at 7:30 pm and then a (contd on page 8)
