By Wade Thibodeaux The Huntsville Rotary Club hosted its annual Wine Quest on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Magnolia Lake and the event titled “A magical night in Paris” was one of, if not the most successful event since the inception of Wine Quest. A large crowd was on hand to partake

in the sampling of various wines and to listen to the sounds of the jazz band, the Razz Ma Jazz. The silent auction had quite a selection of items, but the highlight of the evening was when auctioneer Greg Smith took to the stage and began auctioning the live auction items. Opportunities

to purchase things like a private plane trip to a casino, or a whole house generator solicited many bids, but the most intriguing item of the evening was the one of a kind custom jewelry pieces that depicted white(diamonds) and red(rubies) wine dripping from a wine glass. The wine pull was a hit as always, except that this year there was an extra twist in that some of the bags of wine contained some extra items such as cash or jewelry. The food on the tables that were surrounding the room was as delicious as they were varied and many of the guests raved about the selection and the quality of the food vendors. The funds raised from Wine Quest are used to provide support to many different organizations in the Huntsville area such as Good Shepherd Mission, Safety Town, Santa’s Helpers Toy Distribution, the P.O.P Committee, A Time 2 Read, and others. Stay tuned for information on next year’s event.
