new location is at 906 10th Street and is awaiting licensing from the State of Texas before it can officially open and accept children. The ribbon cutting happened last Thursday afternoon, January

By Wade Thibodeaux The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees met in special session on Thursday, January 27, 2022 with only two items on the agenda. The first item was to approve the final design development package for the Huntsville High School Auditorium bond project and

the second item was the evaluation and contract extension of Superintendent Scott Sheppard’s contract. The architects present in the meeting presented the schematics and design renderings of the proposed 1000 seat auditorium that would be attached to the East end of the front building of

Huntsville High School. The building was designed to be multi-purpose and would have access for students through the existing building and a separate front entrance for the public attending events. Construction was estimated to begin in July of 2022 with 12 months (contd on page 7)

US Representative Kevin Brady, a couple of State Representatives, and many of the local candidates for the March Primary were scattered throughout the crowd. Some locals, such as C.F. Hazelwood, USMC presented a challenge to the crowd and revved up the audience right before Roger Walters and Kevin McMillian took the stage and began auctioning some special items. Overall, it was a great night with thousands of dollars raised for a very worthwhile cause.
