HISD Trustees Give Blank Check to Staff

The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a special session on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:00 am. at the HISD Support and Learning Center located at 1010 8th

Street in Huntsville, Texas. The agenda had two items on it and one was for an executive session. The other item was for the purpose of approval of a one time appreciation bonus for HISD employees. The board met in executive session for about 30 minutes before returning to regular session and there was absolutely no mention of any action or no action associated with the executive session.

The board made one motion to approve the one time appreciation bonus to the employees with no discussion amongst the trustees and the meeting was adjourned. The motion contained no amount of the bonus, no amount of a cap on the total expenditure, and no reference to when or how the bonus would appear in the employee’s paycheck. When (contd on page 11)

The Walker County Commissioners Court met in special session on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 9:00 am. in room 104 of the Walker County Courthouse and approved a MOU( Memorandum of Understand-

ing) with a company called Curative for free Covid-19 testing. Monday, November 30, 2020 was the last day of free testing at Huntsville Memorial Hospital through the program funded by Walker County and the City
