HISD Budget Workshop

By Wade Thibodeaux   The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a budget workshop on Thursday, June 3, 2021 and heard from Huntsville CFO Paul Brown that the budget was very stable with very few changes and no major tax increases were on the horizon. He reported that everything was rolling very smoothly and the 2020-2021 budget would have an operating surplus and the projected 20212022 budget would have a slight surplus. Brown told the trustees that the projected total budget for the 2021-2022 school year was looking like a

$107.6 Million budget that was very similar to the 2020-2021 budget. He also told them that more information would be available in the coming two months before a final budget could be set and a tax rate would be established, but that he didn’t see any major changes. The short budget workshop lasted for only 38 minutes. The next regular meeting of the HISD Board of Trustees will be Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 6:00 pm. in the Hawkins Administration Building located at 441 Fm 2821 East in Huntsville, Texas.
