RECESS FOOTBALL

As many current parents may know, the highlight of recess for a number of our 2nd and 3rd graders during the past school year was playing touch football with Mr. Lane. His title may be Director of Security, but he also spent time each day as coach and referee for these students, and it was a blast to watch them have fun as their skills improved!

These recess sessions culminated in late May with a combined grade recess as the 2nd and 3rd graders faced off on the football “field” and a crowd of peers participated as cheerleaders and mascots to watch them play. The thrilling game ended in a tie, featuring certificates for all, a trophy with shared custody between classrooms, and the biggest smiles you can imagine as they headed back inside. A big thank you to Bill Lane for helping create these magical memories for our WMA students!
