Madrid, May 27th of 2015

This document aims to testify the professional collaboration of the architect Wala Sahloul in our office in Madrid in a stable and continued way from Febrery 2015 to May 2015. During that period, she has made several tasks in the development of different basic design and tender projects and all the works that they involve. She has participated, therefore, with a big professional responsibility from the projects' conception, technical documentation, constructive solutions, reports, budgets and competitions. Specifically, during the first 4 months (September 2008 to December 2008) she was in charge of the Basic Designs for the Recoletos Office rehabilitation, Dessau Bauhaus exhibition and some competitions. During this long period she has shown her qualities to work in groups, her interest for knowing and learning more, and her commitment and responsibility at work. Furthermore, she has made great progress continuously on projects and works. Finally, Wala has left with us a pleasant memory for your pleasant company and his ability to be an excellent companion in the daily life of study.

Villaviciosa de Odón, 22nd November, 2015 RECOMMENDATION LETTER To whom it may concern, It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Wala Sahloul, who has studied her Bachelor´s Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture at the Universidad Europea of Madrid. I know Wala for having being her supervisor for the graduation project, which was deservedly awarded with a 9/10 grade by an independent jury in 2015. I believe that graduates like Wala should have the opportunity of international projection in order to consolidate her training and her professional career that, certainly, will be successful. During the years that this young architect has been studying in the Universidad Europea of Madrid, all her teachers had agreed that her pass through university has not gone unnoticed. Her enthusiasm, commitment and ability to work in a team are her main virtues. The academic projects that she has worked on during her time at university show her great skills in spatial layout, drafting, and representation techniques. Therefore, I present my strongest recommendation and support for Wala´s application. Shall you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards

Pedro Pablo Arroyo (PhD Architect, PhD Engineer) Associate Professor of Architectural Design Director of the Master´s Degree in Architecture (Professional) pedropablo.arroyo@uem.es

September 22nd, 2015 Letter of recommendation for Wala Sahloul

October 14th, 2015 Letter of recommendation for Wala Sahloul

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN , It is a true pleasure for me to write this letter of recommendation for Wala Sahloul, who was my student in the course “SistemasTecnicos 1 & 2” in Spring and Winter terms 2014. During that time, Wala proved to be a model student as she was extremely conscientious about her work and attending class. Moreover, Wala is a careful and creative thinker and designer with an eye for detail, which serves her well in the design field. Her regular contributions to full-class discussions provided insight both for his peers and for me as a mentor. It also came to my notice how eager she is to learn from other fields. Wala demonstrated througout that she has great skills to solve problems concerning our field, doing her work interesting and challenging. She greatly improved her environmental knowledge and her BIM skills in our class, two key topics in today’s architecture production. I believe Wala will add a great value to any incoming architectural challenges in your company. I can also envision her as a highly competent and caring architect in a short future. Please contact me if there is anything else I can do on this behalf.

Sincerely

Luis Alvarez Alfaro, architect. Partner Director, abmarquitectos Professor at UEM School of Architecture, Madrid.

Winterstations Competition Canada / 2016 Torontonians from the Beach. For 2016 we return with an expanded second annual Winter Stations exhibition to celebrate Toronto's winter waterfront landscape. This is a single-stage open international competition, welcoming artists, designers, architects, landscape architects and all those that defy labels to submit proposals for Winter Stations' temporary artwork installations. http://winterstations.com IC Transformation The theme “Freeze & Thaw” meant for us the change & the transformation that happens due to an exterior condition. And that’s how the idea for our IC Winter Station was born. IC Interaction with the environment We chose to use mirrors to reflect the beautiful scenery around it ; the snow on the beach, the icy lake and the city lights, from sunrise to sunset. It also creates an illusion that makes people doubt what they see from afar.

IC Interaction with People This Station will be in constant change from phase to another according to people’s interactions with it. (rotating the mirror panels, dancing, looking, taking pictures…etc)
