Building Inspection Student and Career Changer

The career outlook for this industry is bright! Many North Carolina towns are in need of new, trained code enforcement officers due to the increase in business and residential construction projects.

Building Standard Inspection, I, II and III

Learn to properly inspect residential and commercial construction through an understanding of the NC Building Code, beginning with Level I, as each Level has a Certification with an increased scope of code knowledge and responsibility.

Electrical Standard Inspection, I, II and III

Learn to properly inspect electrical installations in all residential and commercial construction through an understanding of the NC Electrical Code of the NC Building Code, beginning with Level I, as each Level has a Certification with an increased code knowledge and responsibility.

Mechanical Standard Inspection, I, II and III

Learn to properly inspect mechanical installations in all residential and commercial construction through an understanding of the NC Mechanical and Fuel Gas Code of the NC Building Code, beginning with Level 1, as each Level has a Certification with an increased code knowledge and responsibility.

Plumbing Standard Inspection, I, II and III

Learn to properly inspect plumbing installations in all residential and commercial construction through an understanding of the NC Plumbing Code of the NC Building Code, beginning with Level 1, as each Level has a Certification with an increased code knowledge and responsibility.

Certification for each of the Standard Inspection Levels is accomplished by successfully completing the appropriate coursework along with other requirements of the NC Code Officials Qualification Board and passing the state exam for that level.

Notary Public Education

OSHA 10-Hour Training

This 10-hour program helps entrylevel construction workers learn how to recognize and prevent hazards on a construction site. The course is an ideal orientation for workers who are new to construction – and an excellent reminder of workplace hazards for those who’ve been in the industry for some time. This course is approved by the NC Secretary of State to train, test, qualify, and commission NC notaries. The course covers the legal, ethical, and procedural requirements for notaries in NC.
